Hey D-meisters,

Just a quick question. How is Bartram going this year? I have been away in the UK for 5 years and don't know too much about him.

He is coming back from a serious injury this year correct? I picked him up in my SuperCoach team thinking he should develop into a gun player. What type of midfielder is he and do you think he will get better this season?

Best of luck for the rest of the year and keep chipping away!

Still finding his way after a horror 2007 season, he was a super player for us in 2006. Give him a bit more time as a lot of commentators are saying the game has sped up a lot in the last 12-18 months and in that time bartram has only played 1 game.

He wil become a run with player i feel, he does know how to find the footy. Like the club 2008 should be a rebuilding year for Bartram.

Can anyone explain why Bailey hasn't given Bartram a go as a tagger this year?

In his debut year that was the role he played most of the year and he did a pretty good job of it. This freed up junior to have his best year ever and i would think was part of the reason he made the all-australian team in 2006 and Melbourne's best year since 2000, with us just missing the top 4.

Now we seem to change around who our tagger is every week and i don't think that you should have your best midfielder (McLean) tagging (as he did against Judd). He had a pretty good game, but judd's was better and his tagging was restricted because we also need him to get the ball himself.

I'm not saying that making Bartram a tagger will win us games, just that not everything that melbourne has done in the past was terrible and maybe Bailey should give things another go if it has worked before, such as Bartram tagging.

Does anyone see any merit in my idea?

Thanks for the response!

I would agree that you shouldn't be using your best midfielder as a tagger, as you said it inhibits that players positive influence for your team and also gives a defeatist vibe to the opposition in my opinion.

Cheers

His a dud.

Unlike your spelling you muppet, he is a good player. Still adjusting to the speed of the game and like the rest of the team the new game plan.
