That same player who has won a US Open, Wimbledon, the Gran Slam Cup twice, not to mention plenty of other tournaments on the ATP Tour. I believe he's also been the World Number One for a long time... not a bad effort if you ask me. :rolleyes:
 
Great stuff from Mark who has really had to battle adversity with all his injuries.

Remember he won us the Davis Cup in France

He has well and truly redeemed himself for whatever he has supposed to have done in the past.

People who are making this into a Victorian thing are ridiculous

He is an Aussie. That's all that matters

To make it even more clear cut, his opponent is a bloody Frenchman.

I don't have anything against Mark, and I'm glad he's getting somewhere, but I'm just sick of certain Phillipoussis fans. Especially the ones that don't lay off Lleyton. :rolleyes: Very hypocritical, most of them. It's like there can only be one of Hewitt or Phillipoussis - FFS get over it, we have two champions up there. :rolleyes:

Anyway...well done Mark. :)
 
BomberGal, it shouldn't matter whether or not you like the guy - he's an Aussie, and he should have your support no matter what.

Wimbledon has been very kind for Australians:

1999 - We had four Aussies reach the quarter finals
2000 - Rafter lost to Samprass in the Final
2001 - Rafter lost to Ivanisivich in the Final
2002 - Hewitt beat Nelbandian (sp.) in the Final

So, therefore, Philippoussis has my support... Let's continue on with Aussie Wimbledon success.

Anyone that knows me know thats I have stuck by Philippoussis since he first came onto the tennis scene :)

Go back into the Bigfooty archives and see me defending Mark to a lot of Bigfooty people, including one Eastaugh36 ;)
