So what, we had a draw, sure it sucked, and i got a bit cut up, but big deal, we're a great team and were unlucky to kick too many behinds. Last 2 games are going to be great for us, spurred on by last nights results im sure we'll get a win in both of our final games, which should secure us a home final, and we are capable of beating any team in the 8 anyway.

In 2005 we had to play 4 consecutive finals and we won the GF so who cares if we dont make top 4 this year we're still a massive chance of getting to the last day in September.

I know people will probably reply to this saying dream on or what team are you watching, but im a swans fan, and i'm gonna stick by them till the very very end, and besides, we didnt even lose. Lets hope our good form continues, and Tadgh isnt out for too long, and we will be firing come september.

Well the Hawks and Kangas both lost today (Kangas down by 6 goals as I write this) which help us. So we'll basically be half a game off 3rd place behind Coll, Hawks and Kangas.

So if we win two (beating the two teams directly above us) we'll be a chance to make the bottom half of the top 4. Be nice if the Dogs get over the Hawks for us next week.

Gotta win both games, though. And we desperately need some of the senior player back and firing (and returning from injury) ASAP.

If I've figured it out correctly, all we need is to win both games and have the Kangaroos and Port lose one each, and we'll finish 4th and have to play the Cats in round one of the finals at the SCG.

Port are playing Geelong next week, so that's good for us. The Kangas, however, have Carlton and the Bulldogs. Hopefully the Bulldogs can win today and make it so that when they play the Roos they might be playing for a spot in the 8.

To finish FOURTH - Win both our remaining matches against Collingwood (overtake them for 6th) and Hawthorn (overtake them for 5th) and then hope the Kangaroos lose to either Carlton (not going to happen) or the Bulldogs (Bulldogs could be in 22 be playing for a spot in the finals or at the very least playing to fairwell Darcy and maybe Grant as well). If that happens we overtake the Kangaroos and finish 4th and play Geelong in Week One of the Finals at the MCG on the Sunday Afternoon.

To finish SECOND or THIRD - hope the above happens and then hope that Port Adelaide and West Coast BOTH lose their remaining two matches each. If that happens we would on the last day of the season jump from 6th to 2nd and get a home Final against Port Adelaide (depending on %) at Telstra Stadium on the Saturday Night.

If one of West Coast or Port Adelaide win a one or two matches and the other losses both their matches then we finish third and play the side that won any of their remaining matches on the Saturday Night either at Subiaco or AAMI Stadium.

IF West Coast and Port Adelaide win at least one game each and the Kangaroos win both their remaining matches then we finish 5th if we win both our remaining matches and will get a Home Final at Telstra Stadium on the Saturday Night.

Lose one or both and then we have to rethink the whole draw once again.

But seriously whether we finsh 4th or 8th who would want to come u against us in a final lets get behind the boys and stop ragging them they have given us some gutsy efforts over the years stop riding the bandwagon. For what they have achieved they are now legends in my mind and you have to remember they have been near the top for 4 or 5 years now don't get off them if they start going average.

Agreed, ragging doesnt help. The players and coaching staff know whats up for
grabs, its all in the hunger, and Bloods spirit!

If you look at the past 8 games, we'd be sitting 3rd with 5 wins and a draw, 2 points off WCE, with the 2nd best % in the comp, so we cant be doing too badly, considering injuries and players in and out of form. I do really think tho we'll need the double chance esp this year if we are to go all the way.

It's going to be a whole different ball game come finals, there are 4 teams with minimal finals experience over the last couple of years (Kangas, Hawks, Port, Collingwood). We also all know anything can happen when we come up against West Coast. Geelong are a great side but we all remember the last (home and away) final they played in, and hopefully so do they. St Kilda, Brisbane, Bulldogs will all struggle if they make it.
I personally think all hope is not lost, for a team with so much X-Factor It bit premature to write them off.

we only need to win the last two, and have the kangas/port drop an extra game.

even the toasters dropping their last two.

The West Coke dropping last 2 ,could be a good call VB.
From what i can gather, Kerr- out. Cousins- semi fit. Judd-semi fit,and Embley
out! Saints could well roll them this week.

The saints have injury concerns as well, and Baker is out because of suspension. I think the WCE will win, Darren Glass will shut down Frazer Gehrig, therefore making scoring a goal much harder for the saints, because they rely on Gehrig too much.

To make top 4 all we have to do is hope Kangas lose to the Bulldogs, which is possible if they pull themselves together for Darcy's last game. Carlton will try but lose by 10 points, so we really need to rely on the Doggies. Can't see West Coast or Port dropping out.

Over the next two weeks we've gotta support a few other sides. This week Geelong, Carlton, Saints, Bulldogs and Brisbane (don't want Adelaide making the eight). Then next week we've gotta be cheering on Essendon, Bulldogs and Fremantle. Go teams!

But mainly, Go Swans!

Port is actually a more likely team to drop out than the Roos IMO. One would think the task that faces them in Geelong this week will be far too big to tackle. Then they have the Dockers at home which I think is more likely to end in an upset than either of the remaining Roos' games.

I hope the Swans smash the pies. Go Swans!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope we do too. We haven't 'smashed' any teams lately, we'd have to go back to last year's round 22 where we beat you by 90 points. We could go even further, back in round 8(?) thrashed Richmond by 118 points. Kicking goals was actually boring. :D I prefer tight matches and of course Swans winning them.

I read in the SMH this morning and Micheal Cowley actually wrote something very very interesting. Swans don't win tight games anymore! Its true, maybe its because of the bounce of the ball that could've won us it but it just has you thinking if we're made of the same material where we would win from very very tight games, ala Qualifying final, Semi-final and the Grand final.

I wud rather watch a Swans smashing game.. dont think we won a tight match this year.. we only lost them

Thats the problem. We aren't winning tight ones where we usually win them back in 2006 and 2005. Teams are getting better with the one-on-one, accountable football.

The only tight matches we've won would be against Hawthorn back in round 11.
