Coaching Changes - 2015

Our coaching box was poor in the final against North. Again.

Changes warranted, as tactically and on game day we still seem to be lacking.

Max Bailey (who was given a development role with the forwards, despite never playing there in his life) is apparently off to Tanzania. Good.

now im only a salesman but common sense tells me the VFL coach is more of a role than most would think. if ever you were to have a succession plan and wanna find out if these clowns can really coach, then throw them the keys and watch them right under your nose. lenny hayes, Luke hodge, chris newman ,. The apprenticeship starts NOW

Need a good forward coach and a good ball movement coach. We've struggled to move the ball cleanly into attack for years now, and not even recruiting a dedicated forwards coach after Daly left can't have helped.

Wouldn't say the coaching box was crap against Norf at all..... Unless the game plan was to get killed in the contested ball stakes....

Do agree we could do with some fresh ideas. Bring Knighter back as VFL coach or to help out with the mids.

Someone who puts more emphasis on tackling as a method of winning the ball back. We have a lot of broken or missed tackles it seems (no stats to back this up at the moment though, just an observation).

I don't believe our tackling has got any better in 6 years, which is a bloody disgrace.

North got to a prelim on the back of it. Swans into 4th on the back of it. If we want to win finals it has to improve a hell of a lot.

I am with you brother. I can't understand why this is not one of DH non negotiable so given how hard he played.

Not really a full time role but someone like Ling needs to get a gig for the pre season to show our players how to tag and beat tags.

Lade needs a rocket or moving on, we get beat too much in the ruck and picking off the opposition ruck needs to improve also.

Our window is closing as fast as its opening so time we improved the coaching to complement players in their prime. Seems a waste that Cotch gets the tags he gets and no help. If someone can teach him and the group how to break it then we are well on the way.

This is probably a weird one but several times this year watching Tigers games I have thought it would be a cool idea if they got a judo instructor as a tackling coach. Basically just teach them how to lock up opponents arms so they can't handball and force the illegal disposal..

I think Chris might like to move on. I also think a development coach should have some success behind them. It might be a small thing but it adds weight to a young developing player respecting the 'teacher'.

Carltoon are crap at choosing coaches as well as drafting players. I never rated Tim Clarke as a coach.

Which Mark Williams? I agree Newy should go to another club to get experience as too familiar with the players.
