Just heard he's up for charging, unbelievable!

One of the few genuine acts of defiance by a Richmond player in the last 5 years, clean hip & shoulder to shepherd a teammate.

But apparently it's OK for Rocca to smack Andy Kellaway in the head in a "marking contest". Not even a free kick.

Good one AFL,sanitise the game completely.

Seth.

Was this for the collision with William? Surely not?!?!?

Don't worry Cog's - you'll be fine next week!

Yep, booked for charging for the beautiful shepard on Williams during the third quarter

He is up for that, yet most of the action from the Brisbane V Essendon game has not been looked at

Not to mention Luke Darcy giving Joel Corey an elbow in the head during the last quarter of that much.

Hopefully Mr Miller has things under control and Cougs will be cleared to play this week

Apparently you now need to make a split second decision as to how close the ball is before shepherding a teammate.

Thats all we need, players needing to think before committing to a tackle or shepherd.

The games in great hands.

Seth.

was williams injured because of the incident NO.winded YES.
no malice shown by cougs at all and lets be truthful here williams was open for something more serious if cougs didnt do the right thing.
if coughs gets a week then aussie rules is going downhill fast.

cheers!

Hey, I'm still ****ed that Chaffey had to miss last Friday's game while Tarrant was free to play. Both were guilty of blatant charges and both should have got a week.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
WELL DONE AFL. WELL DONE
Thats pathetic. I would be booked all the time if you cant shepard.

From the AFL site.

The only player cleared on Tuesday night was Richmond’s young star Mark Coughlan who will be free to play in Sunday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs.

Coughlan was booked for charging Collingwood’s Andrew Williams during last Friday night’s season opener but successfully argued he had only been trying to shepherd for teammate Joel Bowden when he made contact with Williams.

While reporting umpire Matthew Head described Coughlan’s contact with Williams as “unreasonable and unnecessary” – Williams told the tribunal that he believed Coughlan had committed a fair shepherd

Well Cogs is going to be a bruiser for years to come so the rest of the league better be prepared. He's only a kid and he will get bigger and stronger.

Good decision by the tribunal. Good to see they get some of them right occasionally.
