Just thought I would see where people think the following players should spend the most time during the 08 season.

During the 08 season i think he'd be better off played as a forward, but in the future id ideally like to see him in the midfield if he can increase his tank

If fit then no questions asked he should be in the midfield. The only reason he has been playing forward is due to injury causing him to have a small tank. Hopefully he has had a good pre-season and ready to get out in the middle.

I like him playing across half forward because he is a real burst player, he can lead quickly and take a smooth grab before delivering to the forwards, he also has great defensive pressure from the forward line and can then run down to the wing and run through the lines. With McLean and Jones as effective at contests around the ground and McDonald, Bruce and the likes with more ability to get to contests he is still probably better off on a HFF.

He needs to spend time in the midfeild. I think a good option for him is to line up at HFF and play up the ground as a mid fielder. Then when he needs a rest push him deep in the Fwd50 for one on one contest with his opponent. Syvlia needs to get fitter and this will come with a good run of no injuires.

If his able to out run and out size opponents it will become a tought match up for opposition.

waste of a number 3 pick. time for a trade

Stupid comment. Now that he has a coach that is going to put a foot up his arse if he doesn't perform, I'm sure we're going to see the real Colin Sylvia in 2008.

Can take a good tall mark and has a great kick so that being said, I'd like to see him playing across the half forward line. Would add some great defensive pressure as well

marks well, good pace, great tackler, hard at it, good skills, can tear a game open

let him play off the half forward flank, either marking on the lead, or turning back on his man and running back in towards goal, easy for 2-3 goals, 10 marks and 20 possies a game if he stays fit, and going into the midfield for bursts!! (starting a last quarter with jones, mclean and sylvia in the guts when we are 2 goals down will chage things for us very quickly!!)

Yes ridiclous comment!

Sylvia, although inconsistent at this stage of his career shows great signs of been a very very impressive player. A lot of people bash Sylvia for not delivering as a number 3 pick but from that draft you would not want anyone else. His only 21 or 22 he will be tearing games apart soon, he has match winnner written all over him. Wait until his 25, 26 he will be in the top 10 players in the league. I have watched col sylvia alot in his career thus far and you cant help but notice how restricted he is with his injuries, his body hasnt been right since his been at the club, but fingers crossed his body is coming good and we will see him play at his best. If that the case I am sure all the knockers will be proved wrong!

Are u kidding?? Would love to see him playing for the crows..

Not bloody likely. After your shenanigans in poaching Thompson off us, you keep your grubby little hands away from Col.

Never forgive. Never Forget.

Time for young Colin to step up. I had high hopes for him when he was drafted but entering his 5th season I could count the number of really good games he has played on one hand.

I think 2008 might be his year though.

Personally I would play him in both positions.
This kid can have bursts in the midfield and take a hanger in the forward line...
Fingers crossed he takes some big steps this year.
