Always the optimism tinged with a little trepidation. May the gods smile on the Pies this year finally and stop making us fund the retirements of the entire medical profession!

It's an exciting time to support the club and whilst there's been a lot of change, most of it has been really positive. I cant remember a time when I was more optimistic about the talent on the list and their ability to develop into a quality AFL side that plays an attractive brand of football.

Round 1 cant come fast enough.

However, it's also a year with plenty to lose and a fair amount of uncertainty.

Out of any club, we will probably cop a lot of the heat from the media. We'll be the one to watch, don't think there will be an "Essendon" that could distract them from us.

But more importantly, from a supporters point of view, many are getting restless and are expecting results. Don't think there can be anymore excuses this season, and could possibly be a make or break for Bucks, from a supporters point of view.
 
This is the first year since 2006 that nobody rates us.

Actually a lot expect us to miss the 8 and i understand that based on our last game against Port.

What most people underestimate is the power of the mighty Collingwood. They hate us but mainly they fear us.

I would even say they want to be us.

We may not win the flag this year but we are heading in the right direction.

I've spent my life (like all of us) barracking as hard as I possibly can for the black and white army. I've just turned 22, and this is the first season that I won't be disappointed if we don't go all the way because I know what our current list is capable of. 2014 will define us as a club for years to come, we're an up and coming unit, we parted ways with some of our favourite sons for the good of the club. I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store. Go Pies!
