Collingwood 1901!

Hey guys.

It's been a little while but thought I'd get round to posting something I got for Christmas up on the board.

I've been a Collingwood fan since birth! (I had no other options), but have had some family play for Essendon a long time ago.

Anyway, it seems for a long time we've had some pictures lying around that my family had and for Christmas/birthday I got a framed photo we had of the Collingwood team from 1901.

More importantly, a family member played for the team, a pity that we lost the GF. Kicking some goals helped but hey. So it's good to know I'm (however distant) actually from a Collingwood playing background!

Our E.W.Copeland is in the pic too, and although this pic isn't the best (it's on the iPhone, I'll have to get a real camera and get a shot of the framed pic without reflection), thought I'd put it up for what it's worth.

I'm pretty happy with it!

Anyway, Merry Xmas/Happy New Year.

My grandfather played 9 reserves games in the early 50s. He has a heap of stories about players like Lou Richards and the Rose bros.

Good to see someone else interested in the history of our great club. Kudos.

Well at first I saw it was a frame and was told it was the Collingwood team, figured it would be the 2010 team after the GF

And yeah, for me it's another 2 generations haha but it's Bryce down the bottom left holding the shield Pretty proud of that! I guess if I don't ever get a game then I'll be happy to take that.

You should get in touch with the club and ask them whether they want to get copies of the photo. Just a suggestion...
