It's a time for ****s and giggles so I thought I'd throw up our 2007 premiership team, but I'll need your help filling a few gaps.

Lets starts with the backline:

B: Brayden Shaw, Presti, Jason Cloke.

Shaw will still be doing his apprenticeship. Clement could still be around as a 31-y-o but may be molded into a versatile off the bench player that I believe could be a good pinch hitter up forward.

HB: Rhyce Shaw, Hall, King.

I like this line provided Hall comes through. Mainly that I reckon King is an absolute gun and look forward to seeing his long, raking kicks in the ones very soon. Jury of course is out on Rhyce Shaw, but I'm confident he's working his butt off so I'll give him a posie.

C: Johnson, McGough, Lonie.

Young guns and anything could happen between now and then but we'll have a stab. I think McGough is that clever that he will find a way to make it. Johnson and Lonie have pace to burn and, though not boasting a heap of height, would give considerable punch on wings. Also give you the basic defensive and attacking wing.

HF: Buckley, Morrison, Tarrant.

Bucks ain't ever going to retire and I think we'd all like to see him on a flank. Let's keep the fingers crossed Morrison is everything we want him to be while Taz is a star. He should be averaging 25-30 touches a game and could do that off a flank.

F: Rocca, Davidson, Didak.

I don't know much of Davidson other than what I've read here so feel free to correct me on this one. I expect Rocca to drift closer to goal as he ages, while Didak will always be dangerous up forward. He will spend increased time in the middle I presume, but his right foot will have to improve massively for him to be a regular.

Foll: Fraser, Cole, Licuria.

The rover alludes me. I guess Licuria will still be going strong and there are others like O'Bree, though he's a bit slow. It's a position we need someone to crop up in hopefully a Mullins or a Rowe can do that for us. Cole is fingers crossed but I agree with those that think he will be a star.

Others are obviously Heath Shaw, Clement, Richards, O'Bree, Walker, Cam Cloke, L. Davis, Holland, Nixon, Mullins, Shack and Swan.

I expect Burns to have retired because he's too hard at it to survive until 33 and Wakelin and Woey have prob also had their best days by this stage.

Of the others, I don't know that Williams, Kinnear (he's awful) or Lokan are going to cut it.

Just to sum it up, the team again was:

B: Br Shaw, Presti, J. Cloke
HB: Rh Shaw, Hall, King.
C: Johnson, McGough, Lonie
HF: Buckley, Morrison, Tarrant
F: Rocca, Davidson, Didak
Foll: Fraser, Cole, Licuria.

Would you like me to have scoured that under-16 ranks statewide and then presumed what number in the draft we would get?

Bloody oath you lazy sh*t. ;)
Relax, just messing with you mate.

I just always find it funny when people do our preview sides like 5 years off. Its impossible when you have to take into account recruiting, trades, upcoming drafts, death (god forbid) etc. You need a crsytal ball.

Agreed

I agree, but we've done 2004 to death and I'm bored ****less so I thought I'd have a crack.

You never know, by 2007 Benny Kinnear may have three brownlows under his belt and will be captaining us to premiership number four on the trot.

Hmmmm, I guess there are some things that we can be sure of.

Of course before 2007 Stevens will have realised just how much he was been dudded and will play for free in 2006-10 after he has to be cut as Carlton are $1m over salary cap.:)

Kinnear would be lucky to have 3 votes by then, let alone 3 Brownlows.
