I wasn't at the game so I can't be completely sure, but if there were any Collingwood fans giving the bronxs to Chris Dawes then for once I have to agree with all those people who talk about how feral Collingwood fans are. How the hell could you bronx Dawes when he played a very good game anyway??
The answer is some of our fans, including the overreactionary ones on this very board have the intelligence of a horde of zombies.

We were beaten by a truly excellent football side that, right now, are better than us.
It's quite simple, our backline really struggles to contain their forwards, and our midfield is horrificly one way, hit or miss, around the contested ball. We don't have the skills or confidence to hit foot passes in the middle of the ground and our opposition slices us up through there.

We need that defenisve minded midfielder back, like Sewell is for the Hawks. But that of course isn't the only problem. We need kicking and skills off half back too.

Great games by Reid and Cloke and Pendles was quite good too. Congrats to Krakouer on the 4 goals, easily looked our most dangerous small forward.

It's after the losses and when things are bad that you find out who has character, and who doesn't, and there are a ton of our supporters and people on here with very little character.

Couldn't agree more. All over my facebook news feed there are status updates bagging Dawes. I'm wondering if they watched the same game I did? I thought we was at the very least serviceable.

Thankfully this thread was started so I don't have to.

Those Pies supporters bronx cheering Dawes should **** off and "support" Richmond, ****ing idiots.

I did post suggesting Dawes should be traded 3 or 4 months ago.
But I was ceremonially shot down in flames:rolleyes:

Dawes was better tonight but isn't good either, he was ho hum except that goal.
Confidence slowly higher than 3 weeks ago... But he isn't on the blame kist for this game.

Beams, Sidebottom very soft games.
And who was going for the hard ball contests? Pendles was one I saw but everyone else only went for clean uncontested ruck taps.... Soft. Yes Swan was one of them but he did well when he did get clean gets.

Thomas was shocking... That hand ball straight to Hawks player was rookie level mistake...

Toovey going for a kick long when he was under pressure and 1 cm from out side line was POOR decision making... Especially when boundary was safe option .

Great post.

I was at the game and I can pretty much say in all honesty that the bronxs were definitely from Hawks. There prob was a few of our own but the majority was hawks.

Just not true, Beams was in and under but overwhelmed by guys like Mitchell and Sewell who are 2 of the biggest and hardest midfield bodies in the game. The more I watch him play the more I think Swan is absolutely soft. REfuses to do anything that may get him injured. Hugely disappointing to see him play the way he does now. Very rarely puts his body on the line, and was good at sharking tap outs quite a few times, but how many times did he help stop a Hawk clearance???

Did seem from where I was sitting like the Hawks supporters were the ones giving it to him. Even when he took a mark early he copped it, it's no surprise he's devoid of confidence when he has to put up with that.

I hate when Collingwood fans give their own players the bronx cheers, with a passion!

We are better than that well at least I bloody hope so. Not too long ago he played in a Premiership with us. He will always be a Collingwood premiership player. I don't think Dawes should be in the team anymore but it doesnt mean it's right to make the bloke feel bad.

Good topic
I certainly don't wear rose coloured glasses but lets remember that we have beaten every remaining team aside from Hawthorn at least once this year, Next week is huge but if we get through that I honestly we have a good run to the GF because we don't fear AAMI or ANZ.
Just a matter of hoping that Geelong beat Hawthorn in the PF as I think we can take them

having said that we still have to improve by LOTS. Let's hope the Eagles have a tough one (or at least suspensions to Kerr and Glass

I was at the game, I was sitting in AFL section with a lot of Collingwood supporters and I was astounded at how many blamed things on Dawes when he was no where near the ball (and not meant to be at that time). One "supporter" yelled at him constantly for his mistakes when it was very clearly another player at/on/with the ball. It was truly embarrassing in my opinion.

I know exactly what you mean. A guy behind me wanted him subbed and two seconds later, he snapped that goal.

I thought he was very good tonight, albeit a bit fumbly. He'll play next week and for the rest of the year, guaranteed.

Bullshit thread , if you weren't there don't comment . I was there and didn't hear a single Bronx cheer from collingwood supporters , just opposition supporters giving it to him as you do.

Although Dawes was "better" last night, he still has to learn how to take a make and for that matter a contested mark. His marking skills are not very good. Still, I will back him in the following weeks.

Sitting on the fence, centre wing last night and 95% were Hawks fans. There was some pies supporters bagging dawes and bronx cheering when game was gone.
