If we need to use our first round (probably like Pick #14?) to get Cousins in front of other contenders for him, I'm willing to do it.

He is the missing component to our current side.

I know it will probably hurt in the long term but the short term benefits may be huge.
Wouldn't even waste a second or third round pick on Cousins. Don't even really want him despite our need for an inside mid. Kerr is who I'd love to get. Cousins IMO will have nowhere near the impact some people think he will.

Collingwood should be looking to select a midfielder and/or Centre Half Back with it's first pick... I'm hoping a Steele Sidebottom or Jackson Trengove will be available

what do other people think?

I agree The Clokes, we need a quality midfielder and/or a mobile key defender.

We will go best available no doubt. I wouldn't be against drafting a Sam Blease type, outside midfielder with good skills (I'm only going on what I've read, never seen him play) if he is the best available. Yep I'd love an in and under quick mid with good skills but who doesn't. A 2008 draftee will not be ready for an in and under role for 3 to 4 years.

We have to keep the faith with our development guys that Stanley, Wellingham and McCarthy, in another couple of years, will fill that role. I think you need up to 3 extractors in your 22 with guys like Thomas, Didak, Davis & Pendles to receive the dish off. O'bree still has 2 good years left also and Swan is already there. Not sure if that is his best role though. He kills guys in the link up role.
