Grigg got a lot of possessions but his disposal is generally crap. Missed a sitter to ice the game. Curnow is an upgrade.

He also kicked an absolute gem to get them into the game. Im not saying his kicking is outstanding, but i think a lot of posters are still angry at the way he left (and rightly so). Nevertheless he's not as bad as most proclaim him to be. He was just about their best player last night.

definetly the type of game i thought grigg could play for us on a regular basis. Loves getting the hard ball and dishing it out to their runners (or for us, judd/murphy/gibbs). I was disappointed to see him go. But he made his decision and decided to take the easy way out to get a game. If he had of stayed and done a full preseason he would be in our best 22. But him leaving has opened up a spot for curnow so we move on.

I was happy to see him go well as i always liked the bloke, but just hope henevers plays well against us.

Just suck it in people, nothing we can do about it now.
We all knew he could play. He wanted out and bent us over. Prick of a guy.

Yes he is. I didn't watch the whole game last night, (thought it might make me do myself in) but from what I did see he only hit a traget once. The other times he just kicked it........down there.

If Grigg gets 29 possestions then the the opposition will probably get 23 of them.

Grigg still just bombs it long, had to laugh when dennis commented on his "good decision making". However he does rack it up and get contested footy, more atheltic version of Tuck.

Still he will always be a Judas and should be booed everytime we play against him for the rest of his career.

Shit yeah. :thumbsu:

Stupid post.

Grigg was sensational for the Tigers last night. To say otherwise would simply be biased.

Those knocking his disposal last night would be the first to defend number 5 from Carlton whom has had many games with the similar disposal.

Grigg wanted out, we didn't want him to go. We got Collins out of the deal, a fair effort considering we could have got a used teabag and some scrap paper in return.

If Collins plays regular games for Carlton, which I think he will, then Carlton have won on this trade.

Will fill the skilled defensive forward role of Hoops in the next couple of years.

Couldn't care less about Grigg, it's rare a player wants to leave the Blues and it shows his attitude and laziness.

He no doubt has ability but I don't think he's good enough to be wasting any tears over. Although not as ready made, I'm estatic we got Collins out of that mob, especially considering the circumstances. Give him time, I think he'll be a real asset to us, especially since we have Curnow anyway.

Hilarious stuff.

Those bagging Grigg's performance last night are just proving themselves to be pathetically one-eyed and incapable of objectively analysing an opposition player.

He was very very good and if he'd done that wearing navy blue everyone would be pumping up his tyres. Grigga obviously left in acrimonious circumstances and Carlton people are entitled to begrudge him success, but to say that he played poorly is simply incorrect and utterly immature.

Thought Grigg played great last night. He also showed towards the end of last season similar form for us. As to the trade there was little we could do as he wanted to go. We did as best we could in picking up Collins. He looks like he can play and whilst a different type of player to Grigg looks like he could be at least as good. Looks like it may be a win for both clubs.

Collins won them a game last year in similar circumstances but poor old griggy's kicking let him down once again. "I want to be able to hurt teams"

I don't know enough about Collins to know whether the deal was good or not.

But I know I was annoyed to lose Grigg, because I think he's a really handy depth midfielder. Yeh, he has no "touch" or "silky skills", but he's big, fast, strong and can hoof the ball. Was very good last night.

I did giggle at the commentators saying "he knows where to put the ball", when I think even his most dedicated fans would agree what Grigg ACTUALLY does is wildly blaze away.

Still, I rate Grigg as a useful B-grader, and Collins has a ways to go before he's that.

Why? Because they disagree with you? Doesn't work like that, different things appeal to different people about players, if some commentator saying someone is a good decision maker is good enough for you then so be it.

Grigg is a ball magnet, wins the inside ball and works really hard to present an option to his team mates as well. You can't deny though that most players would've nailed that shot on goal late in the game and made a much better effort kicking inside 50 when he was wide open too. His kicking errors contributed to them not winning the game, it wasn't the great game from him that you're saying.

Grigg is an uncoachable player who wanted out because he wasn't doing the right things to get a game.

You won't get anywhere if that's your attitude.

Grigg should be compared to Carrazzo, not a Mclean who is an and under player.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to depend on Grigg or Carrazzo having to spot up a teammate with a pressure kick.

I dont know what the fuss is about he was never a great player for us
he,s gone good luck to him,at the moment richmond have won the trade lets look at it in 3 years time .Grigg when to the tigers for more money and guarenteed game time just like houli .I am not losing sleep over Grigg, far from it

Doesn't matter how good or bad Grigg turns out to be.

He chose to give up playing finals, in favor of a pay packet and to gain automatic selection in a bottom 2 side.

Good luck to him, but I don't want players in our side with that attitude

Im not sure if all the talk that Grigg wanted out is true.

I saw Grigg out a few weeks ago and asked him 'why did u leave carlton' and his reply was 'it wasnt my choice'.

with saying that, does anyone have any actual proof that he wanted to leave? I just want clarification
