sometimes i finish games late, like 9pm-10pm

it seems the adrenaline refuses to wear off until 1am or even later

how can i unwind and get some sleep?

Shower and in bed read a book.
The way I see it when you constantly move your eyes they tire out and when they tire out you fall asleep.
Also have a drink of water or warm milk. That helps for me.

And yes I know what you mean. I think I heard Matthew Lloyd on radio one day saying that when he played during the night time like your situation his adrenaline of the sport kept him awake until early the following morning.

that's a good idea, my problem is i usually watch a movie or play video games. I haven't read Richo's book yet and apparently it's pretty boring so that should do the trick

i'll start forcing myself to wake up at around 6am too so I get tired easier..maybe?
