For those with communi8 prepaid - I recently got a message from Telstra, stating "From October National and International calls may show your number to others regardless of diversions. For blocking see communic8.com.au/news."

I went to the site, and it offered me nothing. What is this message on about? Does it mean I can no longer block my number on outgoing calls?

Why would you want to block your number?

I can't stand people who call my mobile and it registers 'Unknown ID'. I now have a display on the home phone who shows me who is calling ;)

I always tell people to turn the blocking off or I won't accept the calls.

If it's my missus begging for a ****en reunion, then I should have the right to reject the call. I think we should all that have right.

Telstra's the only thing we get out here in the sticks. :(

Are you sure? I live out of town too, and the coverage has really improved in the last couple of years. I can access Optus and Orange now, so at least I have a choice.

Where do you live?

I promise you, I wouldn't be able to pick up anything except Telstra, unless I was in Warrnambool.

re blocking my number, sometimes I just need to make anonymous calls. *shrugs* :p

I'm the same, if a 'private number' rings my mobile, I don't answer. If it's important they'll leave a message, but I don't answer calls unless I know who it is. :)

I also have a "caller ID" phone, but people can still block their numbers.
I never answer the phone when it shows the caller as "private", you don't want me to know who you are, fine, I don't want to talk to you, usually those people are the ones who know that if I know it is them calling I won't answer, they are so dumb that they think by blocking their number I will answer the phone, HA HA idiots. :p

It means that if someone from overseas calls your phone you will now see their number appear on your phone whereas before you couldn't.

Whole thing doesn't bother me. I'm on Telstra, but never make or receive calls from overseas from my mobile.
