Because I skipped those when they first came out, and I skipped them on this rewatch, and I classified them as mediocre :P

I just saw claymation in the thumbnail so thought it was all claymation.

Okay gonna watch that over dinner.
 
There are 'fake clips' taken from the claymation episode, that's probably why you're confusing it.

Personally, I didn't like Abed's claymation Christmas. Everyone else seems to, but I thought it was way too mushy. Same with the season one episode where Abed gets a pet rat for a school project. A lot of fans love that montage, but I found tacky for some reason.
 
What I hated most about the claymation ep was how much it retconned genuine character histories, personalities and relationships for a one-joke stunt ep

It was 'continuity be damned, you're getting this ****ing sweeps ep'

Show never really recovered. When I look back, community was only really stellar for two and a half seasons. Other one and a half was alright I guess and the fifth was pretty much poo

Who knows what 6 will be like

I could re-watch season 1 and 2 a hundred times yet you couldn't pay me to sit through any of the latter seasons again.
It was fun when it was about you know community college. They pandered to their nerd demographic and turned into a steaming pile of shit cult tv show by making every episode Abed-centric.
 
Season one is endearing to me unlike almost any other show I've ever seen. Fantastic rewatchability. The fact that they still had the budget to shoot outdoors and around a real campus probably helped. Once the budget got shot down and they started shooting almost exclusively inside sets that looked like they came out of the Big Bang Theory, it lost a lot of its flavour.

Watched it. Liked it.

Really good episode.

Explains A LOT of what I was confused about in further episodes.

Like the Glee episode and when they said this was their second time. Also about the bus crash.

Britta and Jeff banging other than the paintball episode.
 
There's another fake clip show in season three if you liked that one.

I wouldn't say the first half of season one sucked, it was just a different show, one trying to find its legs. I liked the toned down approach in the beginning though because I liked when the show actually seemed to be about a wacky community college. It had a larger cast of teachers and students and it actually seemed like a place that could exist. It had a different charm to it because of that.
 
I don't really care tbh.

I'd prefer Donald Glover.

But the shows weakness is more on Chang and Hickey as main characters rather than bringing Pierce back for an episode or two

Hickey was hilarious. His confused "I fought for this country" speech in the meowmeowbeenz ep was fantastic
