Compaq Persario

Hey,
I have a Compaq Persario 5000 with windows 98 still (piece of crap). I went to play a game on my computer and it went in to saftey mode... so i restarted my computer, as that is meant to fix it, but it never did . So i rang the company and they have people, who you can't understand to well answering the phone. Does anyone know how i can fix my computer and get it back to Normal mode?

Safety mode?

Normally when it boots up and the safety mode is enabled, a menu appears giving a choice, including starting via normal mode. Just choose that option.

If you aren't getting that option. Start up the laptop and while it is starting up, remove the battery with the laptop unplugged, so it shuts down. This should prompt Windows 98 to generate that menu when you next start the laptop.

Cause it's not like 'normal' custom built computers, the Compaq boots up how they have it set up, which doesn't give you the option to get out of safe mode. Also, it is not a laptop.
