A friend of mine has just upgraded from Foxtel Digital to Foxtel IQ2 HD.

he has a Very old HDTV which only supoorts Components Output and ive been looking around on the net to see what type of cable i need but not sure what to do.

Do you have to buy a converter or can you buy component to HDMI cable or something similar?

You can do it with a converter box (won't find a cable) but it'll cost around $150. May as well just get a new TV

:thumbsu:

Price wise it makes perfect sense to buy a new TV because for a reasonable quality HDMI to Component converter you would be looking at something like the HDfury 3, wich the retail price for it is $300.

With no HDMI or DVI, most of those component only TVs usually are only progressive scan or will accept 720p signals, but then downsample them to 480p. I wouldnt be forking out that sort of dosh for something for an old TV.
