Have read that Scott Thornton and my buddy Andrew Browne are on conditioning programs. What exactly is meant by this and how long before the boys are back playing?

Also heard that Thornton is suffering from some sort of illness, any truth in this? If so, what is it and how bad is it?

Cheers.

I read somewhere that he has Crohn's disease. A friend of mine has this and she struggles with it sometimes but otherwise lives a normal life. Description of it is at:

http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/crohns/

Apparently this could be why he struggles to put on any weight and it can be fairly painful at times. His pasty white look I'd probably just put down to too much Pommy blood! :)

The Worst reported today there would not be a training session until tomorrow. I'd say someone might go to the training seaaion and get back to you.

As noted in the 'polak' thread we seem to have a few players going missing without much info.

Very true that, his family told me about that a while back. He was vomiting after every game in late 2004 and more of the same last year, he tried to hide it from the coaches and medical staff thinking they would drop him from the side. He's being managed carefully atm.

It would be silly to play him in this Perth heat! He'd lose a few kilos in one game.

At this time of year Thornton is kept indoors as Freo does not have a sunscreen sponsor.

The injury news is a sunscreen.

LOL, reminds me of that sketch show with the red heads all running about at the beach from 1 beach umbrella to the other screaming high pitched EEEEEEEEKs.

this is something serious and nothing to laugh and joke around about...we should all wish him a speedy recovery for round 1.

Recovery? This is something he has had for a couple of years and to my knowledge wont get any better or worse. There is no cure, medication just eases the symptoms.

Just a shot in the dark here, but do you have red hair? :D

It doesn't sound at all pleasent. I feel alot of sympathy for Scott.

Any news on Andrew Browne?

Browne had a serious Hammy last year taking a very conservative approach.

Why has polak fallen of the radar? he played in the club's intra -practice match and had an inhury free pre season.

Polak hyper extended his knee apparently and they are just being careful with him. That's what the 'soreness' was about.
