hey guys and gals!!

i've recently setup a WLAN at my workplace (usually not hard to do and setup)

I'm using all TP link stuff as i have in the past.

I have 2 computers hooked up to the router.

The main computer is linked via Ethernet.

The 2nd Computer via wireless.

I get a message on the 2nd computer (nothing on the 1st) saying that there is another computer on this network with the same IP address. This causes the internet to drop in and out, and also run quite slowly.

any idea?

cheers

put fixed IP addresses on the computers. tell the router not to assign addresses and off you go.

Its not your WLAN that is the problem. Its your LAN and sounds like you have given both PC's the same IP address.

forgive the ignorance/lack of knowledge.....

but how do i fix....

I don't recall assigning a specific IP address for the 2nd computer.
Could it have automatically assigned one tha conflicted??

thanks

yeah it could have.

go to control panel > network settings > LAN > Properties > double click tcp/ip settings

thats my memory of it. may depend on the version of windows.
