Ladies and Gentlemen (and fo course troll-do ;)),

Congrats on the win yesterday - whilst certainly not the most stylish game I have seen, you were certainly the best team on the day - as you sure can't kick 5 goals to 3 qtr time and expect to win! (That said when we got within 2 goals in the last I am sure a few of you squirmed, maybe just for a second!)

That said, how did Jackovich win the Ross Glendinning medal - I thought at least 5 others from your mob deserved it more - unless the medal is for most kicks to a contest on the boundary line? lol

Anyway - well played, you were the best team on the day.

Yes congradulations Guys you were the better side on the day.

The game was a bit of a drag wasn't it. It never really reached any great hieghts but you were definitely the better team.

I have witnesses who will quote me as saying at 3qtr time "You watch, they'll come out firing and we'll come out flatfooted." Geez I wish I wasn't so right about things like that :). Credit to the Eagles, they repelled that little hiccup better than I expected :).

Well, how do you judge a player whose job is to make sure the ball comes nowhere near his area as often as possible? :) My money was on Merenda, but Jako was just as deserving. Matthew Whovlich? :D

Thank you for your congratulations. I agree, we were the better side on the day.

I had Jako in my best three on the day (with Kerr and Peter Matera) as he was good early when the game was there to be won. Cousins, Merenda and Gardiner would also be up there in terms of winning the match for us. Also, we shouldn't forget that Jako took out (fairly) one of your potential matchwinners in Pavlich. So I had no problem with Jako winning the medal - in my view he displayed great leadership qualities, which were sorely missing on your side (Fletcher and Bell were honourable exceptions).

Good luck next year.

V-o-R you sir are a gentleman and a scholar, and I do appreciate your words.

Perhaps you may wish to school some of your fellow posters here in what seems to sadly be the lost art of graciousness - however I am glad that afteer a week of good natured banter, we can pass pleasantries such as this - but I still hope we pump you next time our 2 respective sides meet. ;)

In fact, for the first time in years, I will be cheering for you in your next 3 games, mind you that is just to be vindictive, so you don't get any draft concessions :) lol

Seriously, what chances of you rabble winning a game in your last 3 - and most importantly, would you really want to?

Thankyou Keupper and Balip :)

While that was a shocker of a game in terms of skill, there was always the possibility that one team could kick a few and blow it right open, and like Mr Eagle, I had the strongest sense of de je vú when you guys got within 14 points. I was positive Freo were going to run over the top of us, just like last year :o But luckily (for us) we stood up to the challenge this time, so our name is on the trophy, and in the end that's what counts.

But you guys played well (or as well as we did anyway), and had a few of those early shots gone through, we might have been congratulating you today. McPhee looks to be a great future talent, I hope you can hold onto him :)

EF :)

btw- what happened to Kickett? I heard concussion, but didn't see anything to cause it  Can you get concussed by the noisy booing of a crowd? ;)

You can say that agin - the eagles ccrowd wwent silent, and we were bringing it in, and at 14 points when Buzz missed that easy goal, I dropped my head, so I can only imagine what happened to the players.

We also had the ball and running it in, and on 50 (I cant remeber who) swept a 20 metre handball, and from the perth end, I assumed (always dangerous being a Freo supporter!) that it was to a Freo runner, instead it went to Jones I think, and you guys sweopt it down the boundary, and I think Wilson kicked the goal from an angle - game, set, match.

Very true - I was a tad suprised about the posts proclaiming the 'thumping' we were given, given that 1/2 through the last, the game was open to be won, but you can't kick 5 goals to 3/4 time and expect to win a game!

For a guy picked up by our recruiting 'hacks' at #39, he looks the real deal, and has already professed to wanting to be a one team player, so lets hope he is a man of his word!

I also have no idea, we at the game were trying to work out why he wwasn't on - I didnt see the incident - anyone?

Jakovich i thought certainly deserved it. Whovlich was nowhere near it all day and he and Longmuir are your prime targets up forward. Jako towelled him up and Gardy controlled the ruck to force Longmuir up the ground. Game, set and match.

Other notables i thought were Cousins, Gardy, Merenda, Peter Matera and if he didnt get injured (**** you fewster) then Kerr looked almost a certainty for it. Anyway congrats Jako and all the Eagles.

As for you Kuepper, i sincerely hope you can win 2 more and pawn off the wooden spoon to the Saints. Seems unlikely though.
