Always thought the criticisms on the Rat were harsh. He's no Danger, but he does have x-factor, does some very clever things, also tries to do things that don't quite work. He's not a game changer but he does enhance the team when things are working. As you say, pick 81, bargain. Well done Rat.

Yeah, Atkins is in trouble career-wise if he stays. He just doesn't have the game to thrive in a poor side.

He could end up having another solid 100 games if he ends up in a good to very good squad, just due to his outside game.

I think there were some who were very obviously not going to maintain the standard, and would’ve been great trades as a result;

Two prime examples - Laird is frustrating at the moment, but is an example of someone who has been consistently at a high standard that you’d reluctantly consider it.

Some people would’ve melted if we traded him then, he was a board favourite for a long time. He is capable of AFL standard footy and has been a very good outside player at times, it’s just never going to happen here again.
