So why have I posted a thread on consumer law in the general board?
a) to gain more attention
b) for the use of retailers, manufacturers, service providers and consumers alike

So you aren't one of these? I take it then you have never bought anything in your life.....

Now that we have bought Christmas presents, it's a timely reminder to learn about our rights so that if problems arise then you have an idea of where you legally stand.

So, without further ado, let's start discussing consumer law and how it applies to us as an average BF user, whether in our working or private lives.

Some key reference points:

Australian Competition & Consumer Commission www.accc.gov.au

Commonwealth Trade Practices Act 1974 http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/tpa1974149/

Fair Trading Act (VIC)

So people, what is your "advice"* and experiences?

*Note this thread does not proclaim to be actual legal advice.

www.consumer.vic.gov.au would be the most relevent site for most ordinary people. I've had a few dealings with them in the past through my business dealings and they are very helpful.

They give good advice to both parties and also offer mediation.
