Has anyone been on one and if yes, where did you go and what was it like?
I am thinking of going on one next year to Britain and want to know what the tours are like.

Are you going on your own or with someone else?

I am looking to go to Europe for 18 days in july next year. The Great Britain and South Ireland tour looks good as well.

Oh goody, another chance to plug my sadly-out-of-date-and-poorly-constructed web pages:

I did a 17-day Contiki tour as part of a 2-month stint in Europe. I thoroughly recommend the experience. Look for the tour photos on my web pages.

Thanks for that link, the page wasn't too bad:)

I am thinking of going on the European Impressions tour and then spending a few days in London before returning to Australia.

IMHO you are much better off doing it independently with a Eurail ticket or even booking a tour once you are in Europe.

I did a coach tour from Denmark and it worked out to be sooo much cheaper, though I didn't understand a word from the tour guide! :D

Con-shaggy tour are great fun, but it's always good to explore different places on your own as well. IMO, if you only do a Contiki tour as your overseas experience you may as well go to the local pub/nightclub get smashed and watch a travel show.
