Injury Cooked Axle

Terrible news. If this is in fact the end, would love for him to get a final farewell game. Has been a great servant and leader at the club over the journey. Can't recall him ever getting into hot water either - absolute professional.

Dimma did say it was just a clean out at this stage, but his 3rd op since January.....Bugger !!!

I would put Nathan Brown at the top of that list.

Yep, he was stooged by that broken leg, no doubt. Pretty sad, really.

All from the same era, more or less. Imagine a midfield of Cogs, Brown and Foley at the feet of Ottens, putting the ball inside 50 for Richo and Krakoeur...

Saw this bloke walking out of the ME Centre today. Heavy, heavy strapping on his knee with a severe limp. Never seen that much strapping on someone who wasn't about to play a game. Was seriously heavy duty.

:(

Sounds like an excellent recipe for a 15-goal preliminary final defeat

Not great, perhaps needs to pull the pin in a few weeks.

good luck axel, no doubt you will be Walking/jogging s l o w laps probably as early as today if not soon after to get yourself back in business to put some pressure on some of these young cubs in case they get ahead of themselves or we cop any more injuries.. hopefully you are fit enough to be in the mix if were around the mark this september. a fit foley still in our best 22 for mine.

someone is bound to get injured and/or mcintosh, cellis, menna, griff, if they hit a brickwall as can happen with fatigued young or delicate frames, as well morris and hunt if they have too many consecutive bad games.

Good on Foley for not giving up. Even if he isn't able to force his way back into the side, it sets a great example to the rest of the playing group - here's a bloke who started on the rookie list and had to fight every step of the way of his AFL career. He's had plenty of injury setbacks over the years but keeps pushing himself and his body to try and get every last ounce of it he can. When he eventually retires, you just get the feeling he and everyone else will know he did everything he could and put everything he had into his AFL career.

Great role model for others to follow.
