Wandered down to Lathlain (yeh I know it now has a fancy name) to watch the Demons play the Gummies.

The Gummies have a good ruckman / forward but they lack grunt from their other big players like Hunter and "Sookie" Simister. Peake got alot of the ball and was effective but he will get better.

Anyway had a good look at Cookie, he did his usual strong tackling and distributing the ball out of congested play. He seemed to take time adjusting to his "new" team mates and their speed. eg. he handpassed a couple of balls metres in front of players, expecting them to be at AFL pace. Overall looked good and I can see no reason why he would not be in the 22 next week.

Go the mighty Black Ducks.

Yeah, I watched it on TV and a lot of handpasses came out quicker than his new team mates were expecting. He was a bit rusty by his own high standards and will be a lot better for the run.

I thought young Peake got better as the game went on . He put on a couple of great tackles, one on Cookie which I have no doubt he will remind him of at every opportunity.
