read on foxsports.com.au that corey jones is attracting interest from richmond + the two south australian clubs.. thoughts..?
 
poor season in 2008

28 years old at the beginning of 2009

I doubt that he will be on our Radar, I hope not

hes actually not a bad player. DT wise he is always one of those players you half consider. Hes cheap and pulls out big scores on the odd occasion. Im a bit concerned that his best is behind him though...
 
Credit where credit is due, He is a handy forward.

Would want to be dirt cheap to consider it at 28 at the start of next season

Would much rather develope our youngsters as he just wouldn't make that great a difference.

Imagine if Port pick him up, him and Carr, no wonder they are going to drop the Revolution theme. Bit of a dads army coming together down there...
 
We will be going backwards if we pick up Corey Jones at his age.

... the point I was making is that as a Sturt fan I'd be very happy.... because we'd see plenty of him... because he wouldn't be playing for Adelaide... because he's so shit.

Should I have explained it more?

He is a decent player but he's far too old, we'd want a player whos under 26 years old, other than that, it won't help us.
 
He is a very solid AFL player. Whilst I wouldn't want to pay too much for him I defintley rate him as a player. A lot of posters in this thread can't have seen him play too often.

Doubt we will get him though as Kangas will want at least a second round pick.

Maybe if we'd watched the Roos' knock out final vs Sydney we'd have seen him?

Corey Jones didn't play in the final. He was dropped.

He was dropped because he was injured, he tried to play through it towards the end of the year but they decided not to play him. He didn't have a great year but he missed most of the pre-season after suffering a broken foot in the finals the year before.

As for innacurate, kicked 33.19, about 64% from a pocket isn't too bad. He has probably been restricted a fair bit given we don't have the best midfield going around.

He hasn't asked to be traded so doubt he will be.
 
I would only start to consider a Jones trade if we could get him for a straight player sway

Jericho or Campbell for Jones

I would not exchange draft picks for Jones
 
Injuries catching up with him too. Less appetising by the minute.
