It's best to nip it in the bud when there is a case.
You've seen what is happening around the world, who wants that?
It's a smart move to protect the economy and hospital staff.
Uhhm no not really. Every country bar the UK had less deaths 2020 than 19.

There are going to be far worse viruses than COVID in the future, and you and the rest of you sheep, would have fatigued society to the point where cynicism and scepticism would be the default setting in this, thus leading to far worse outcomes in the future, if you didn't bury your head in the sdand to the fact that viruses and humanity have existed though-out all of time. Telling people who are seeking the truth to expose the lies as conspiracy theorists is only hurting your argument/ causes.
This is true. Meningococcal golden staff even legionnaires are far more worthy viruses to shit ourselves over. Yet we managed.
Yet somehow someone with the sniffles or an asymptotic super spreaders is cause for alarm???
This reminds me of the abortion or euthanasia even drug debates. A public health measure that needs considered rational compassionate argument and sensible harm minimisation debate.
Yet once you realise this whole argument is not about health but agendas and throw in a **** load of cash it makes it easier to understand.
Look at self interest and bias and the arguments are as clear as day

You're deliberately understating the severity of this virus.

And you are kicking the can down the road so that future generations will have to pay for your frightening levels of compliance.
There'll be far more severe viruses in the future and because of constant desire to control the populace through harmful measures like lock-downs masks the poisonous jabs that you'll be forcing them to be cynical and sceptical thus further exacerbating the deaths in future viruses.

I'm not suggesting the viruses aren't severe, however ,for something that has the survival rate of 99.7% these counter-measures are a crazy amount of over-reach.
You'll be the sheep that cried wolf when something that kills more people in a week than Covid could ever do will take a foothold.

They'll be only so many times you can say COVID is harmful before society will be tired of of your BS and'll tell you to GAGF.

Some of you are quite paranoid.
We'll need a new covid vaccine every year from now on so get used to it.
Do you want to risk spreading the virus to other people potentially killing them?, and risk dying with a ventilator ?or just get a yearly vaccine with mild side effects?
We should be grateful that we have been gifted these vaccines. The MRNA vaccine is breakthrough technology, and is a significant achievement in human history.
Be brave and take the vaccine for yourself and your other brothers and sisters in society.
The real conspiracy is man's idiotic march to destroy the environment and encroach on places that should be left alone.
Tedros! Welcome to the Thread man. How is the sewerage system in Ethiopia? How is Bill going? What's he got in store for you next?
Something to do with the weather, right? This connection between the pandemic and climate change you've been making, how do they connect?

Is this some kind first nation Ethopian Voodoo bone logic? You got to help us westerners, we have been brainwashed by Aristotelian logic. You know, that crap, if A then can't be not A. When clearly, if Pandemic can mean Pandemic and Climate Change. Anyway, what you gonna do about the sewerage systems in Ethiopia?

Settle down , the virus most likely occurred because wild animals were deprived of their natural environment and put in stressful situations sitting next other wild animals in cages.
The stress response caused the incumbent viruses in bats or pandelions to spread and mutate and pass to nearby humans.

Thanks Tendros thanks very much - coming from Africa you would know animals, so I have great regard for your opinion.
So the animals are stressed. Is it due to beastiality? What causes this stress

I disagree, people are just being realistic.
It's easy to say it's no big deal, but in reality it is.

In reality, this has been an exercise in controlling the populace and how future generations will have to pay because of our spineless compliance. The consequence of kicking the can down the road is either civil apathy or complete anarchy, if something much more serious was to occur. Something significantly more serious would be a much more severe virus that would kill in one week what COVID would do in one year. Or an asteroid/ meteor that wipes out a significant portion of humanity forcing the rest of us to wear hazmat suits because our planets climate/atmosphere would be nigh-inhospitable. And here you are shitting bricks over a virus that has a very high survival rate.

This has never been about the virus or health . If it was, gyms would be inexpensive, everywhere and open for 24h, healthy food would be inexpensive and the total health, physical, emotional, mental and social would be paramount, work-life balance would be more accommodating to people, officer space would have really high tables or Swiss balls to sit on, i.e. no chairs in the office.

As I have alluded to earlier, I am not saying the viruses aren't severe , but how we as a species of homo sapiens have reacted to it has been a an abject failure and it will be reflected in the consequences of that will be the burden of future generations.

Spineless compliance? I would call sensible civic duty .
There's no burden on future generations , the economy is fine.
No one had their liberty taken away , there's more mental health problems but that's the cost of preventing deaths and hospital system to break down like in Brazil.

Western Australia atm has 2 of the 3 busiest emergency wards in the country with current wait times of 8 to 10 hours the standard for non life threatening emergencies.

Meanwhile the Premier is stressing at how 2 healthy people in quarantine got sick

Maybe focus on the person actually in hospital waiting 8 hours to be seen too? You know, a real problem that exists today? Crazy I know

Again, you are making the same mistake as everyone is by directly comparing us to Brazil, The only reason its "spiralling out of control" in Brazil is because of the population density, lifestyle and because quite a portion of their citizens are in poverty.

They had Recently hosted FIFA World Cup in, 2014 IIRC, and the 2016 Olympiad both of which turned up as an economic bomb that has sent them into the levels of poverty that they may never recover from, COVID has exacerbated that.

We freaked out because we had a few people in hospital because of it and the Govt saying that our hospitals were being overrun, that was just fear-mongering propaganda.

No it was the lack of a mask mandate and lockdown by Bolsonaro.

No it was the lack of a mask mandate and lockdown by Bolsonaro.

Because he either

1) Saw how pointless those countermeasures were
or
2) Saw how grossly overreacting those Govts were in those counter-measures for a virus that had a 99.7% survival rate was.

Bolsonaro was the only leader with any backbone and cajones to see this for what it was.

ffs talk about showing your own privilege. How will you even try to enforce masks and lockdowns in a poverty stricken country like Brazil? They live in slums trying to survive daily. lockdowns will be more harmful to these people than any virus. Where will you lock them up? Most don't even have homes! Masks? these people can barely afford any food why will they care or worry about masks?

A family friend had her heart surgery cancelled for the second time in 2 months. 1 hour drive to hospital, 2 hours testing and prep in the ward, an hour prepping the theatre, then sent home because there were no ICU beds available for recovery.

A disgrace. No wonder McGowan was so shitscared of the health system getting overrun of this is how bad it is with zero Covid.

Go to the media with that. Disgrace when you consider the wasted resources on covid the last 14 months

I think it's universally acknowledged that Bolsonaro has been the worst leader in the world on this one. You could call him genocidal ,which people in Brazil are saying.
Anyone can afford a mask Giggler. You can use anything .

Brazil is a hard place to govern man it is rift with corruption and poverty there is pretty much no middle class only the rich and the poor! Sure Balsanaro could have handled things better like a lot of world leaders but honestly how can he lock millions up when they are mostly homeless or living in infested slums?

I didn't say they couldn't afford masks hell they could give them out for free (which they probably have), only why would they care about wearing mask when they are trying to survive daily from far more life threating thing such as shootings, muggings, gang raps etc.. you know violent things these people have to live with everyday. On top of all that they hardly have nutritious foods or clean water and hygiene. Do you think its like living in suburban Melbourne? Any virus even the common flu will kill thousands of these people yearly.

I think your overstating the conditions, it's a modern country still.
The point is Bolsonaro went down the do-nothing , anti-science path and look what's happened.
He's says it's the same as the flu , he's an A-hole.
