In the peak fortnight of the outbreak to date (25 August to 7 September), the COVID-19 case rate among 2-dose vaccinated people was 49.5 per 100,000 while in unvaccinated people it was 561 per 100,000, a more than 10-fold difference. The rates of COVID-19 ICU admissions or deaths peaked in the fortnight 8 September to 21 September at 0.9 per 100,000 in 2-dose vaccinated people compared to 15.6 per 100,000 in unvaccinated people, a greater than 16-fold difference.

Except its not currently worse because a large chunk of the population are vaccinated now.

And they are the ones who the media have put the microphone in front of to get an opinion on it.

It has been the prison guards investigating where the escaped prisoners are from and assuring you it's not from their place.

And now admitting it is. The only way this gets any more astounding is if they admit that covid-19 was developed in the lab, that they funded.

So yes, people need to be very skeptical of all of it. The only reason this truth came about at all is because the bad guys in politics went after that. The media were content with their answers and even backed up their guys. They didn't push it.

It was considered a fringe conspiracy position that the US was funding research against the rules.

I settle into a pattern of non drinking during lockdowns - since whatever number about April 2020 was.

So what that means is that when I start again I have exactly zero tolerance and get full value for shots!

Killed work early and had a couple of sneaky ones up the street before it got too busy. Now about to embark on beer #4. It should be my last, but it won't be. Apologies in advance in case reports of a portly gent doing a nudie run along St Kilda foreshore hits the news tonight.

544k unvaxed I not expect that to come down much now. we did do 144k first jabs although say it drop.
Although NSW did 100k last week and sitting at 92.83%.. so who knows
Say the last 5-7% not get it done so end up 350-400k unvaxed

Not particularly. I think we already have enough media networks. We just need them to reinstate their requirement for even coverage so we don't get polarised perspectives proclaiming to be guardians of the real truth. Especially when 95% of consumers of CNN/MSNBC identify as Democrat and 90% of Fox News consumers identify as Republican. It just drives more division.

We need the media to always be against the government, not just when the side they don't support is in there and it should be a united front - not a game of us or them competition against each other.

Since 2001 the news has figured out that conflict drives consumption of their product. It's good for business. It's not good for the people.

The NSW situation is so front of mind in Victoria that it's being directly compared. That used to be really good for Victoria and now it's not. Swings and roundabouts.

Just like how Australian Government botched vaccine rollout, accidentally becomes one of the most vaccinated countries in the world in less time. Whoops. Suddenly not talked about anymore.

The politics of this public health situation are ugly stuff, just wait until the health systems fall apart and the federal government twist the screws over that. Benefits nobody.
 
OPERATORS of a Tweed sushi restaurant say they have been forced to close after copping racist abuse from customers for only serving vaccinated people.
In a statement posted to its Facebook page, Danosi Kitchen Tweed said it was also running short of staff due to border closures.

The post said staff copped racial slurs, shouting and swearing from customers during several incidents last weekend.

The restaurant said this was because it was following NSW Covid-19 policy which stipulated only vaccinated customers could be served.

Media is supposed to be impartial (hehe) but not all opinions are equal. When reporting about a race around the world, the media is not obliged to get comment from a flat earther, when reporting on the Holocaust, they are not obliged to get comment from a Holocaust denier. Presenting facts should never come with a qualifier.
 
When veteran scientist Craig Rayner saw Australian laboratory results had been published that suggested the drug ivermectin could potentially fight COVID-19, he felt a sense of dread.

But although Dr Rayner agreed at the time that the results were interesting, they were nowhere close to proving ivermectin could treat COVID-19 in real life. For a start, the dose required to kill the virus in a test tube was many multiples higher than the dosage approved for human use.

So they were startled to learn on April 3 that the Monash study had been published in the Antiviral Research journal and announced in a press release titled “Lab experiments show anti-parasitic drug ivermectin eliminates SARS-Cov-2 in cells in 48 hours”.



“The real purpose for academics is to get their paper published,” Dr Begley said. “You’ve just got to get published to get the next research grant.”

Ivermectin was a case in point.
“The preclinical work about ivermectin should never have been published,” Dr Begley said. “The university was aware that there were problems with this research before it was published, but it went ahead anyway. And the truth is that in the fullness of time, Australia will be embarrassed by this story.”

That's the tricky part isn't it? Simply by their presentation they become facts. You need only look two minutes at the "hands up, don't shoot" story to see how the news reporting something false creates a false narrative that becomes the facts. That Covington school kid is another one. Smolette is another.

There is a balance to be struck.
