Coughlan seems to be the in and under player, with skillful disposal we have been waiting for all year.

The three and a half talls( Richo, Staff, Otto & Razor cause he aint as tall as the others) are outstanding for us when they are in the side together, and are near on impossible to match up on.
With Otto & Razor rotating effectively in the ruck and Staff at Fullforward now starting to bring us the advantage.

Can anyone explain, all year our disposal was shocking and with such swirly strong winds how we were able to hit our targets ?

Outside players Bowden & Tivendale cut Freo to shreds.

Cambo & Chaf very creative out of defence.

Richo again outstanding, he has started to play angry using hard body work to scare defenders into hearing footsteps.

We are starting to gain something out of this season as our kids are now playing full games.

I know we will miss out on those priority picks, who cares we are winning and have Holland, Hilton and Dragacevic to come in to compliment a team heading for the 2003 finals.

Go Tiges Winning is Such an Addictive Feeling !:)

There was some really great signs out there today wasn't there gar ...

Coughlan - Continues to get the hard ball. He has that uncanny knack of being able to take clean possession in heavy traffic. Dare I say it ... Voss-like

King - Showed some great signs early on. Did he get injured, as he did not seem to reappear after half time, and was good up until then. 'Bout time, I guess ...

Bowden & Campbo - Tore Freo to shreds. Knocked up getting possessions, though Bowden's peripheral vision needs to be enhanced - at times he missed the opportunity to put the ball to team-mates in scoring positions.

Richo, Otto, Staffo - Keep these three fit next year and we will go top 4 again

AK - Slowly getting back to 2000 form. Was especially good early when the heat was on.

Chaff, Ty & Torns - All very solid across half-back. Thought Ty did a great job on Medhurst, and Torney tore Coops a new one.

Tivvers - He's found the big sticks again. Phew!

Razor - He's everything McKee wasn't for us ... reliable, mobile, agile. But for god's sake KICK IT !!!

Gas - What a bloody trooper this guy is. I'm so glad he's ours and not theirs for the next 4 years.

Leon - Best game since Round 1 - Found plenty of space, and used it and the ball really well.

Now the bad news ...

Dunc - Got slaughtered by Haselby. Dunc's disposal was a liability all afternoon. He wins the ball so well, but continues to cough it up with terrible decision-making, kicking and handoffs. A day to forget for the Duncster.

Rodan & Krak - Yeah, yeah, I know they're young. But they just could not find the handle between the pair of them. Don't be surprised if Rodan does some Coburg time next week .. he looks very out of touch. And Krakouer was not front and square at any stage all day ... Richo roved more balls than him !!!!

Bell - Who was supposed to be on him??? He tore us up !!! Only for lack of support and terrible turnovers from teammates did Bells work go unrewarded. We need to be able to cover these guys ... Bell, Cousins, Macleod, Crawford, HarveyX2 etc...

It was really good to finally bury a side, particularly after they challenged us midway through the last quarter. We were probably flattered somewhat from some woeful mistakes from Freo. Can you believe that a team playing for their season would go down so lamentably, or without a yelp. They are weak, and we made them pay for that weakness....

Next week will sort out how good or bad we really are.

If our forward line gets quality ball from the midfield, we will be unstoppable. It's great to see - if Richo doesn't get to it, Staff is eyeing it off, if Staff isn't there- Ottens or Hall is out and about. All it takes is enough chances out of the middle.

Thought Rodan was going to kick his 'second' goal of the year today. Evaded about four Dockers, had a bounce and then tried to kick the goal but was run down. I don't mind him having a go though.

To little to late. Its amazing how well they play when the unemployment line stares them in the face.
Hopefully Frawley is not fooled by these meaningless wins. Where were they when the season was on the line?
I agree Ghost, DK is an absolute clown. Our coaching staff are the only ones in the league that rates him. Its an absolute disgrace that someone with such deplorable skills is allowed to play at such an elite level. Give him a press conference soon.

Rodan did have an ordinary day, and was out of touch but don't forget that it was only last week that he was on song. Part the problem is our apparent fascintation with trying to find a crumbing forward. What we should be doing is finding gun midfielders and have them push forward occasionally.

To this end, Rodan should have been played on ball more often as should Pettifer. Dropping him for Krakouer was a mistake. Kayne is a midfielder and this is where he should be played.

As for a small forward, why not keep Matthew Rogers there? He is barely keeping his head above water in the midfield but has been a proven performer up forward in the past. In this case, we've got nothing to lose.

Rodan must be encouraged to run. Occasionally he will get run down - Parker is one of the few players quicker than him - but someone who runs the lines can be very effective in dismantling opposition defences.

These wins aren't completely meaningless Diggler. As is entirely obvious, there have been a lot of kids getting quality game time since round 12. What we are doing now is getting them used to winning. This is important for next year!

It has been 5 - 6 weeks since we've started putting our strongest team out on the field (sans Holland, Hilton and Draga) and once we started getting a bit of confidence again, we have suddenly been competitive again. A 1 point loss to Essendon followed by 2 wins is excellent. It won't help us now but it shows that we won't be a rabble next year.

I notice in today's SHun, Nathan Buckley has nominated Coughlan as the Richmond player likely to poll the most votes come Brownlow night. This is actually a very good call from someone outside the Club!

I would suggest that Coughlan would have to be close on favourite to take out the Jack Dyer Medal later on this year. Not bad for someone who has only effectively played half the year!

Duncan & Andrew, Rodgers, King. Is Gaspar really worth 600k a season? I've heard some rumours that the club maybe interested in a trade for him to WA. No great loss.

Coughlan has an uncanny ability to get his arms free in a pack/tackle & deliver a handball. The "Voss like" call is right in that sense. Also manages to strip opponents of the ball.
You can't teach that,exciting stuff.

For too long commentators have lumped AK's disposal in with his older brothers ... guilt by association. In fact AK is a pretty good kick ... gets a fair bit of penetration, and hits a hell of a lot of targets. The last month I would have Andrewe in our best handful of players.

Rogers and King I agree on ... both up and unders, and should be traded if possible ...

As for Gasper ... as I said about a month ago $600,000 for almost an entire backline is pretty good value, considering our forward line's costing us about $2 mill ...

He has just recently taken the lead in the Richmond Big Footy Best & Fairest as well.

Well that is the big one - more prestigious than any other award floating around!
