Small piece on him on late night channel 10 news last night.
Basically said his treatment in germany had been successful and was looking at a return, probably through coburg in the up coming weeks.
Adding him to our already reasonably strong midfield will help immensely as we possibly push for finals later this year. Looks to have sized up from the last time i saw him too.
I'm excited!

dont be - brownie took two seasons to get over his leg, coughlan has been out for two full seasons
do you know how hard it is to take two seasons off and then come back and play? it takes a long time to get back to your best - which is also why we SHOULDNT get cousins

Cousins is a lot better than Coughlan and Coughlan would be my favourite Richmond player.

Greg Miller said on the Marngrook (sp?) footyshow last Thursday that he will line up next week againsed the Poxhill Hawks. Great news:thumbsu:

Also said something very strange. Not sure if it was mentioned here previously, but on the day we played Port, he said Kingy didn’t watch the game, but he listened in on the radio as he was up on a roof doing some plumbing work for a mate.

But he was out with a hammy. Is it only me who thinks that’s very strange.

That is unusual, although there is a difference between being fit enough to climb a ladder and being fit enough to play AFL. I guess a hammy wouldn't stop you moving around too much.

hyde out cogs in

theres heaps of players id take out for cogs if he could play the way he use to, id lose tuck or even tambling

Tuck has been very impressive over the past month.

Bling on the other hand has not been playing well lately, can't wait for cogs to get back, it will give our midfield depth and put a lot of presure on players to perform as there'll be others knocking on the door for their spots.

Didn't stop Brad Ottens back in his Tiger days either.........oh, but that didn't turn out to well did it......ouch !

F him though !!! :D

He looked okay in the game he did play for coburg found the ball alright when he was on the ground.
Elite player probably isnt the right word but fitness will be the only issue , has not forgotten how to find the ball.

Would be shattered if the tigers let him go or he didnt make it back.

i doubt tw would let a player like him go just because he likes to spread the age barrier around (kent kingsly :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:) plus coggs is a gun :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

MARK Coughlan is on track to finally make his return to football this weekend. Richmond coach Terry Wallace last night confirmed the midfielder was on the brink of playing for the Tigers' VFL affiliate Coburg.

"I think he'll play this week," Wallace said.

"If he gets through training this week, he should be OK to go against Box Hill on Sunday."

It will be an anxious time for all at Punt Rd given one more serious mishap would cast grave doubts on Coughlan's football future.

Great to read that it looks like Cogs will be back this weekend.

who knows where or when he will be back i miss cougs

You know what, so do I - he was always that bit of class in the Richmond midfield. Could always find the ball. Will be a great mentor to Cotchin as inside players. Deledio and Tambling will only benefit from Coughlan feeding out the handballs as well.

I hope he plays a few games in the seniors too as a reminder to other clubs that he is available for trade!!!!
A good average footballer at best, just what the club doesnt need!!!
