Taping it. Is it Countdown or Rock Arena at the moment? What bands?

If it helps with you sorting tapes, Rock Arena was on at the time with, of all things, an Angels special.

Didn't spot much calssic stuff up to this point, but fun all the same.

Just finished watching it. There was some fantastic stuff notwithstanding The Angels special.

A few songs from 'Dogs In Space' a great Australian film about alternitive culture in Melbourne in the late '70s-Around the time that I began seeing bands and happily saw a lot that featured in the film.

The Deadly Hume- one of my fave Sydney bands

Three songs from Hunnas 'Human Frailty' Album, including 'Throw your arms around me'.

All in all some great memories for an old geezer like me and a tape I will hang onto.

I think I was in a coma after seeing the Angels. What stuff from "Dogs in space" did they play?

Countdown's been done too many times over the last few summers. Good to see Recovery for a change of pace.

The trouble with the Countdown episodes DB is they seem to show the same ones (How can you tell? Some might say :D )

I wanna see the one with The Boys Next Door doing "These boots are made for walking" or The Scientists doing "Last Night" or The Saints doing "Erotic Neurotic".

Probably (sadly) amongst the many episodes that were trashed by the ABC. I reckon I've seen some episodes of Countdown more often than the Simpsons.

'Golf Course' and 'Rooms for the Memory'. They also played 'Shivers'(The Boys Next Doors version not Marie Hoys.)

I dont think that the Boys Next Door ever played Coundown. That was just a special voiceover Molly did for the film.

Seems we suffered the fate.

Did we each lose 9 minutes? Either check your alien implant or call Mulder immediately.

Recall enjoying many Rock Arena shows at the time - hope they play more of them rather than Countdowns.

I didn't see it at the time, but a good friend of mine did, and also had it confirmed by an ex-member of the band (who wasn't in them when they did Countdown).
As I understand there are 3 BND filmclips in existence. A studio version of "Boots..." (shown for about 3 seconds on Long way to the top) "Shivers" ( seen quite often) and "After a fashion" (the guy who did it is still hanging onto it and hasn't released it!!!???).

By the way I wish some record company would re-release the soundtrack to "Dogs in Space" on CD - I would buy it just to get "True Love" by the Marching Girls:D

Saw The Marching Girls many years ago oddly enough they didnt play 'True Love'.

Its strange that the soundtrack never found its way onto CD. Its got some great songs on it- Anthrax, Dog Food, Working Ugly Muscle, Shivers and True Love.

I quite enjoy seeing the old countdown episodes. Takes me back to when I was a youngster and had a huge crush on Keren Woodward (Brunette in Bananarama). Damn she was seriously hot. The greatest tragedy in Music was Hugh Hefner's inability to get Keren and Kim Wilde to pose for his magazine.

I was so in love with Suzanne Dowling. Even more so when I found out she was married to Kym Gyngell. It meant I was a chance (well sort of) even though I was ugly....bugger if I had only been funny. ;)

Dude That is very Sad. I fell sorry for you and your family.

I taped this last night as they had some Prince stuff on Rock Arena but I got hours of the stuff 'cos I couldn't rememebr what the rundown was....anywhoo.............

I got the Duran Duran special and couldn't pull myself away, as in watching a train wreck! I would imagine most of you that post here are too young to remember them when they were massive. I was never really a fan and watching now I wonder even more so how they got so big. Simon Le Bon is one ugly mofo, can't sing and has abolutely no sense of rythm, they even made a soft pr0n video clip!!

No they showed Controversy, Anotherloverholeinyohead and U Got The Look. The video clip you saw was on when they did a 4 hour special on the eve of his tour here in Australa. The clip is taken from a special that was filmed in Syracuse during the Purple Rain Tour.

I have a copy of the Rage Special - if you want one PM me.
