Cousins to blues

The more I read posts about Cousins the more amazed I get at how judgmental some people can be and how narrow minded. Sure he takes drugs. How many of you guys are addicted to alcohol? Still a drug just happens to be legal. Still used to take away pain and confusion.

On the field the guy is one of the best in the business and puts in as much effort as anyone else in the league. Further how many other players in the AFL use illegal drugs? Heaps I would suggest. Would you guys be happy to delist anyone who is found to be using?

IMO Cousins would be fantastic for any side. He is as inspirational and brilliant as any player on field. Many of you guys have defended Fev saying that so long as he plays good footy you don't care what he does off field. Further no one seems too concerned that Pratt has acted in an illegal manner off field.

Not condoning what Cousins has done but also think the treatment he is receiving is way too harsh. He is obviously out of control off field and needs help. However imo he doesn't warrant all the garbage being delt him at present.

I wish the thread names Cousins to blues would be pissed off already, what a joke, Cousins doesn't deserve another chance to play AFL, he should have atleast a 2 year ban on his head now.

I heard on the radio the charge of possession was dropped, but the charge of avoiding a drug test remains.

Still... makes you think. Looking back... what has Cousins ACTUALLY done? Hasn't tested positive to anything. Got fired on charges that were later dropped. Wow. Mishandled in every way possible?

Unfortunately for Ben it seems as though the cops in WA were using the fact that he was on his last legs with the club he so loves to get to him, so that he would help them get to the bigger fish in the WA underworld, instead of doing real police work.

Charge him for possession of a 'valium-like drug', rely on the inevitable sensationalist media frenzy to force the club to sack him and then drop the charges -top police work! :thumbsd:

Isnt Judd enough? We dont want or need Cousins. He would take game time away from those that need it, and his selfish, "look at me" attitude is the last thing we need (and we wouldnt have enough room for his ego anyway with Fev there).

Lets just all be thankful we have Judd and let this one die away.

Ok then now the Charges have been dropped can the wiggles re instate him ? Or do they need to redraft him if they so choose?

So what do people think of the Cousins to the Blues now?

I mean, some people admired him (Not saying I did) for being able to come back, beat his addiction, and play good footy. Now we have found out that since then, nothing has changed other then he refused to do a blood test...

I know people will say well his refusal obviously means he is still taking drugs, but this isnt a guarentee...for all we know, Cousins has worked his ass of to get clean, considers that he has beaten it, and is just a scapegoat for Eagles to try and win some sponsers back.

He is old, yes, but add him to our list, and we might suprise some people and be serious premiership threats over the next few years rather than just a finals side in the next few years....I'd consider it, if he is clean, Eagles copped his bad rep as a drug addict, and we can have him with a new rep of overcoming drug addiction to play good footy....

No way. Way to much of a liability off the field and anyway Judd left that crap behind, he wouldn't want it following him, he would not be a happy man

While I wouldn't mind it, I dont think even for a second that there is a serious chance of Cousins coming to Carlton. However just in terms of your comments as unrelated to Cousins, the club are making changes to make us successful again, and I think the supporters now need to as well.

The attitude that we dont need Cousins is wrong, we might not want him, or need his baggage, but we will always need better players until we win the premiership. Also saying he would take game time from those who need it is wrong as well, that attitude worked in the past, but if we are to be successful again, players need to now earn their spot in the team. We are building some depth at Carlton now, and this is the one mentality that should be now changed...not having a go at you, just this way of thinking that most Carlton supporters have due to our years at the bottom.

Maybe if he was a ruck or a KP defender...

I've make this my last post, cause I don't want to seem im desperate to get Cousins, Im not, it wont happen, I just wouldn't mind if we did.

For arguments sake though, Judd and Cousins were both leaders, and I'd be very supprised if they werent mates. Secondly, Judd hasn't played 1 game for us, and already the club has to bow down to his wishes? I keep hearing people say Judd wouldn't be happy ect. He has chosen us now, no more Judd interviewing Carlton to give his approval of decisions we make for the club. If the club theoretically did want Cousins, I'd be pissed to find out they didnt get him in fear of upsetting Judd, especially after just sacking our Captain on a supposed mentality that no one man is greater than the club.
