It was deemed a scope when we pinched him from you guy's..... Looking at his record I cant really see why.

Just want to know what his role was? and why he is held in so high regard.....

As recruiting manager he has had a bit of an up and down track record. People would look no further than 2001 to see our first pick there was a disaster, although that was more due to Luke Molan not being able to get his body right and onto the park. He has had some good success with a few late picks in recent years, Bartrams success in his first year is a testiment to that, as is Simon Buckleys progress this year.

He isn't the worst recruiting manager going around, but I feel because of the Bartram pick he has been elevated a bit higher than he deserves as far as reputation goes.

I think he is average, not the worst recruiting manager out there but not the best.

He obviously has a fascination with taking the youngest player in the draft, McNamara was the youngest player drafted last year, Bate, Dunn & Juice were 3 of the youngest with Juice the youngest player drafted that year. McLean was another young player

It's an interesting one, I can understand Bartram and McNamara, get in early with 17 year olds for late picks because they won't be there next year, but it's a gamble. McLean fair enough, he has proved himself as the best player available at that pick, but the Bate, Dunn and Juice was a very interesting draft. Despite no of those 3 really proving themselves yet they were pretty good picks when you look at what else was around in that draft.

Wasn't this the bloke thats responsible for Meeson getting 3 years and Carroll still being contracted for next year

Richmond can have this spud.

Meesen surely doesn't have a 3 year deal. I would say any reasonable person would not consider giving such a long term deal to someone who is totally unproven.

If that is in fact true, Richmond are more than welcome to his services.

Has an average record with first round picks. Pretty good at picking up roughies late in the draft, and even rookies too.

Have a look at some of the rookies he has picked up:

Troy Broadbridge (40)
Austin Wonaeamirri (18)
