hey fella's i was just watching a richmond V carlton game on fox footy and noticed that craig ednie wasn't a bad little player, can some one please let me know what happened to him??? was it injuries? or was it just another one of danny frawley's not so wise delistings.

I never thought he was really up to it.

Only thing I can really remember him doing was getting kneed in the balls by Ackermanis.

he played a couple of ok games, but was too small (jockey sized) and turned out to be a dud.

He was small, but no more so than Brent Harvey. I made the comment that the time that we could only afford to have either him or Clinton King on our list. We kept King, albeit not for very long.

Ednie was a very clever footballer but was far too light for AFL. Even Brent Harvey has spent quality time in the gym and has a bit of muscle on his frame.

i'm with you he was'nt given a chance in the seniors and was a gun in the two's. just when we were
desperate for a crumbing forward he was given the flick. hey paul calary was tiny but played many years for the saints,another great decision frawley.

He reminded me of Daryl Vernon. Too small to make it. Does anybody remember how small Vernon looked on the football field.

vernon was a lot baulkier than ednie and i think ended up at sydney.played a
season or two then disappeared,must have been delisted.

Vernon was ok, but never as good as Robert Lamb. The old number 22 used to burn up a wing.

Ednie was talented but lacked size. He was possibly the smallest kick i have ever seen.

In fact, i often wondered what would have happened if he took a mark in the last quarter 40m out and the siren went with Richmond down by 3 points.
I think he might have just given the ball to the umpire as making the distance was impossible.

Id rather see that scenario than Clay Sampson try and banana kick it.

With players like Clay,Ednie,Hermanen is it any wonder we need to remember the Paul Sarahs and Vernons.

yes i did. the famous number 43.
I'm not having a go at him, i thought he was very good for his size. In fact, he is very similar to Jeremy Clayton at North, who has alot of ability but just lacks the height and pace.

I thought i read somewhere that Ednie won a B&F at a SANFL club, along with King and Depasquale.

Edine didn't play in the SANFL but King and Depasquale won the South and Port best and fairests respectively.

Ednie played this year at Yarrawonga in the Ovens & Murray League (won their B&F) and in 2005 is playing Essendon District FL but I'm not sure which club.

Speaking of ryan pagan, does any1 know why simon hart wasn't kept on our list. When they took him to England to play against Essendon, he impressed. It seemed as though the club thought he had a future, but he never returned. I would have liked to have kept him. He showed plenty of promise.

pitura's son also played a cracker in london one year and never returned.i would'nt take much notice of those exhibition games.
