It’s a situation not lost on Craig, who publicly acknowledged that any hope of a September appearance has now been extinguished.

“We’re so far away from playing finals type footy - forget it,” he said.

“Irrespective of whether we’re in the finals, that’s not the issue for us, the issue is the type of football we’re playing.”

That was the most peeved I have seen Craigy. No one in their right mind would be thinking finals. We can't even string together 4 quarters. Loved it though when Rucci jumped in on hearing the words "forget it". Craigy didn't give him the satisfaction though.

I feel sorry for NC, my favourite coach outside of my own club of course. But, it is hard for supporters when the club has been built up with the expectation that you will make the top 4 and compete for a premierships and are currently at 1-7 after 8 rounds, that is a real kick to the nuts.
