Plot:
This is a most surprising movie I must say. I was kind of thinking that I wasn't going to like it and before I knew it the movie was ending. It is engrossing because the story is so well written and the characters are so well acted. The best role I have seen Jeff Bridges do for years and he was perfectly cast. Maggie Gyllenhaal who normally is not one of my most favorite actresses, was excellent as the vulnerable single mother; and Colin Farrell who can actually sing OK, makes an appearance as the successful C&W star Bad Blake mentored.
All in all we have seen the washed up C&W singer type movies before but this one has an edge of realism that draws you right into the movie.
Highly recommend it

Plot:
Bad Blake (Jeff Bridges) is a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. And yet, Bad can’t help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician.
