Gym & Misc CrossFit

20.5 was my least favourite of the workouts. As a short guy a lot of the movements in CrossFit favour me but wall balls and rowing are two that definitely do not. I also can't really do muscle ups. I can chicken wing a few but that's about it.

My box is putting WODs we can do at home using mostly bodyweight and kettlebells/dumbbells.
yup same, they say they are giving us individual programs too but idk if that's really the case. my problem is i struggle with intensity/motivation when not at the gym.
hope i can at least stay where i am fitness wise while this goes on if not improve

Yeah me too. I'm contemplating buying a barbell set as well to add to the WODs. I have the space for a home gym.

i need to make some space but have a bench & squat stands in the garage already from when i had *arounditis for a couple of years before joining crossfit.

i had also (luckily now in hindsight) picked up some adjustable dumbells & a couple of kettlebells late last year so i could do some crossfit style workouts at home if i couldnt get to the gym due to work or something. so i'm in a pretty good position for the time being.

Took me about a week to adjust to doing WODs at home plus getting equipment, so haven't worked out much over the last week or so but I'm all set up now and ready to go. Did this WOD this morning.

Every 3 min for 5 rounds

10 burpees
15 20kg dumbbell snatches
20 air squats
30 sec plank

Rest for remainder of 3 min each time.

This morning's workout:

16 min AMRAP

4 rounds of:
- 1 min burpees
-1 min alternating lunge with 20kg dumbell
-1 min hand release pushups
- 1 min rest

I averaged 20 reps per minute on each of the movements.

12 days of isolation

1. 200m run
2. wall walks
3. db lunges (each leg)
4. db thrusters
5. burpees
6. barbell rows
7 kb swings
8. kb goblett squats
9. ttb
10. db jump squats
11. 50 skips
12. 15 in & outs

so it went 1, then 2,1 then 3,2,1 etc. my dumb ass didnt measure the 200m at home until after & i think i ran nearly 400m each time :|

Gday guys, seeing you two are the most invested posters on this thread, do you guys wear specialist crossfit shoes, like Reebok Nanos or Nike Metcons? The Reeboks looked absolute quality when checking them out at Rebel but don't seem to be big enough.

So I'm interested in Metcons as an allround kind of gym shoe as both my runners and sneakers are in need of replacing soon and I squat alot in my flat foot sneakers these days as they help with balance, so thought a decent flatter type shoe could do the job, but I'm also a size 14 4E going by the Nike Pegasuses I tried on so will have to order them in if they do 4E sizing.

What type of shoes you guys wear? I guess Romaleos are a specialist weightlifting shoe, but would prefer more of a crosstrainer that can adapt to different surfaces/movements.
