Crowley replacement

Well, did exceptional well in the last two years and played all games. But will be 30 next year in a physical stressing role. I am wondering why there is no talk yet about who will or could replace him. Will probably have an impact to have the oppositions best midfielder run free...

Thoughts? My first was Thought Deboer while reading through the new best 22 thread and people thinking about a role chance for him...

Showing no signs of injury or failing ability so it's a non issue for mine. If he goes down than Gu, Mayne or De Boer would be my pick in that order.

Apparently sutcliffe is being groomed for this role which isn't bad with his run ability also, just need muscle and tackling ability so he doesn't get brushed off by bigger bodies like he did in GF. but that comes with time.

With Sheridan and Mora to take over the running role, just need Sheridan to sort his kicking out.

Love Schloithe but rekon he'll take Subes role and Suban will play as a tagger. Suban can carve the opposition up when he gets the ball coz of the penetration in his kicking as well so would need his player to be very accountable or could end up better than Crowls!

He doesnt have the required attitude.
Suban is an old fashioned see ball, do everything possible to get ball type player.

DeBoer is perfect for it.
Average skills and knows it.
Will understand he needs to do a role and do it well or will be replaced.
Tough as nails and is already doing a half tagging job in the forward line.
Will take over from Crowley and wont be far off his level.

Agreed.

Suban is already good at what he does, he'd need a huge mental shift and years developing a tagging game. Just because a player gets under the opposition's skin doesn't mean he's an instant tagger.

mm, see where your coming from but not a tackler really and lose alot going forward imo. However if we build up his tackling and have a tagger capable of running free (Carazzo type) then when Hill cops a tag he immediately takes out there best player and Suban or whoever roams around all on their own. Mzungu maybe? Like Schloithe.
