Just saw this posted in another thread and wondered, why isn't this our logo:

Compare that to our current monstrosity and there is simply no contest.

Disagree. Changing it back would be a strong move as it would show the club admitted they were wrong, the weak option would be to persevere.

Yeah, it's been a while now, and the new logo still looks amateurish to me.
There are plenty of talented graphic designers in this country. I have no idea why, if we were so intent on changing, we settled for THAT. Did that happen to coincide with a change of personel in our marketing department? Those kind of blunders often do, as people try and change things up to justify their own existence.

I don't recall there being a 'process'... we accidentally found out about the new logo from a leak on a Perth license plate website! If only there was a process and they told us they were changing it and gave us like 5 options to pick from or something.

I hate the way the new logo and the away guernsey were designed at the same time, like they decided they needed a white away guernsey and needed to make a logo that would fit on it. So lame.

A few of the Vic clubs have recently gone back to their CLASSIC jumpers. The most recent is the Western Bulldogs that I can think of. Its all the way you market it. Surely they could even come up with another new design that doesnt completely suck. Maybe they are waiting for our team to start playing for the jumper, before they bring back the old one. This years team didnt deserve to wear it!

I wish they came up with two media polos next year, one with the old logo or the heritage one they came up with last year and the 2nd one with the current logo.

i'd be happy if ours was the Baltimore Ravens logo, unfortunately ours looks like the 15th draft the work experience kid did before the real artist had another 25 cracks at it.

there were kids in my Yr 10 art class that were producing work of a higher calibre of what we have seemingly paid for.

When we complained as it happened, the club reacted rather angrily towards those complaints. Shot them down quite strongly.

Unfoutunately I don't think they'd ever go back to the original crow, I accept that you sometimes have to adapt things but I would have preferred if they did something like this to it (obviously not the same exactly, but so you get an idea) by making the crow more real looking but still keeping a similar idea.

I think the thing that bugs me the most about the new logo isn't so much the stupid design of it its the weird mid blue colour of it. We have never worn that colour until that logo came out. Whatever the logo is, old, new, something altogether different it should be the right colour.

They did indeed. Imagine a different business reacting like that to a big change.
"Customers say they loathe Nike's new logo, and it makes them less likely to buy their apparel. Nike CEO tells customers to stop being childish, it'll grow on them."

I dont really hate the new logo but the shape of it just doesnt work well with a footy guernsey. The white away uniform is probably the worst looking away top in the league.

I think we need to find a way to make it look good on a guernsey but if we cant, scrap it and go with something better.

Well I must be one of the few who love the new logo. And I'm a baby boomer *apparently*. My son is um... what comes next after Gen Y? - and he loves it too.
