I went last night had a ball tearing time. Spent most of my time watching Tommy. Much laughing when he busted the symbol. Frickin animal that bloke.

Sounds wicked guys!
Im seeing them this Sat night with Motorhead,Living End & co, should be HUGE:D

I went both nights and have to say the Palais gig was the best of the 2.

I thought the sound at Voda was terrible. Loud as hell as you'd expect, but apart from Mick's guitar the rest was just mud. The drum soound was terrible and while Nikki has never had the best of bass sounds, all i could make out was just a ridiculously loud rumble. But the lighting and piro show was insane. They know how to put on a rock show those boys!

But it was rockin at the Palais. Sound was spot on and the boys looked like they were lovin being on the smaller stage in the more intimate setting. Although i doubt the Palais will risk putting on another band like Motley again (is there another band like Motley though?!?!) with the idiots in the top mez level ripping their seats out and tossing them to the bottom level. Couldn't have tickled copping one of those in the head!!

Was also suprised they didnt pull out the 2 new tunes at Voda that they've been playing in the states. And i'm sure it will suprise no one that i was devistated that Tommy didnt do his solo.

But even still, i was stoked at how well the boys were firing. Tommy just dominated as he always does, although there were a couple of brain freezes from the big guy on Tuesday night where he messed up a couple of arrengements. But even still, the man is a drumming god.

And i was just amazed at how well Mick is playing all things considered. But the biggest suprise was Vince. He was in great form both frontmanship wise and vocally.

All in all, as windy said, they delivered exactly what you'd expect as a fan. Motley rule!

What the hell? They were ripping seats out at The Palais? What was that all about?

Dr Feelgood 1990 Tour was MOTLEY CRUE at thier BEST. Tuesday night was a scrap. Ok , but I admit I enjoyed it as I lost from voice by the end of the night but geez, I expected a more polished effort from the dingbats behind the sound controls. Kiss farewell gig a few years ago rated better and that first hour was butchered as well. AC/DC rate the best in the biz for sound quality.

what was the standard of females like at the gigs?

i got the new dvd 2 days ago and its awesome, i probaly would of paid the $100 if i got a show like it but im getting the feeling that they didnt go all out like the dvd

God there were some losers amongst the men there on Tuesday night at Voda. When spotting this lady with an inch of cleavage showing, this Beavis in the line behind me goes, "Check out that trailer ********, I still do it!"

It ain't 1990 anymore and Melbourne rock chicks are now in their 30's with much sagging flesh. Men probably outnumbered women 50 to 1 and I am not lying when I say there were a few women about with walking frames.

In saying that though, T-Bone's T**ty-cam segment had me in tears. I wouldn't say there was much quality there but it was fun for all concerned.

I didn't think the sound was all that bad at Voda, probably because I endured a full Motorhead set and in comparison, Motley Crue were crystal clear. Curious, Carlos, that you mention Mick's guitar was clearer than the rest. I actually suspected it wasn't him playing. Along with the backing vox that none of the guys made any attempt to pretend was live.

I was up top at the Palais and saw the two chairs frisbee'd down towards the end of the show...insane. I'm not a huge fan of the band, but scored free tickets and decided it worthy of a trip to St Kilda. They certainly put on a show to remember, even though half the songs were lost on me. Mick Mars doesn't look to good at all and seemed to spend half the time off stage or sitting down, but Nicki Sixx was running around like he was still 20 years old. Tommy Lee has a presence all of his own, I love the stick spins during fast patches...you don't get that much these days.

Couldn't help but laugh at Tommy's tittycam, although his tactics were a bit dodge: "Common guys, help her get 'em out" or something to that effect. "They're only **** ya mole" :D

At the Palais, i didnt see much chop. I went to the Loft afterwards to see tommy lee dj and that was another story.

I'm not sure if this complies with the new rules of the forum, but it has to be said, i have never seen so much quality in one room in my life, 9s and 10s all round. It was like every high class hooker and stripper in melbourne had come out for a crack at the title, and i was lost in a sea of plastic cleavage.

OK, the chucking the chairs over the balcony can't be condoned. BUT maybe they can do something about fixing the seats at the Palais, they are a disgrace.

I had a shocker for Sting a few years back. My seat for John Fogerty had collapsed and I had to sit on the wooden frame at the front of the seat cutting through my hammys. The 2 people besides me left before the show because their seats had collapsed completely, hopefully they were just moved to seats that weren't as bad.

At around $100+ for most shows at the Palais I think they could at least do something about the seating. And preferably before Simple Minds come in May next year.

Anyway there are times I'd prefer to stand, but security tells you to sit down and you sink DEEP into your seat again. So they need to fix them up real soon, it's an embarassment at the moment.

There were stacks of vocal backing tracks (Motley have always admitted to using them) and there were 1 or 2 tunes where a second guitar line was definitely sequenced ("Glitter" is one), but i have no doubt that Mick was definitely playing all his own stuff. He played amazingly well considering how bad his condition is, but there were still a few bum notes in there and some of his solos and intros changed from Tuesday to Wednesday night.

I think the main reason he was alot clearer and louder is because with Tommy he holds those tunes together melody and groove wise. Nikki just aint that much of a player.

But he is a rock star's rock star. Loved his form at the Palais when he ragged hard on the group of fans in the front rows of the top mez level, calling them a pack of Bon Jovi fans amongst other choice adjectives that rhyme with duck and hunt for sitting down during the show!

Right, I`ll have that bottle Sammy.
Palais, T**ty -cam, there was one bird who simply refused to reveal her Bristol City`s , can`t blame her, she didn`t want to do it , so Tommy move on, did he ? ******** no, that was almost sexual harassment !

I haven't seen any live Crue footage for years so I can't really remember, but has Mick always played the songs live as though he's a member of a death metal band? His tone, and his palm muting was way over the top. Also, in most if not all songs his sound was just drenched in chorus, and occasionally you couldn't even decipher what riff he was playing through the mush. The intro to Livewire was an example of this.

Still enjoyed the night regardless.

Saw the Crue in Adelaide last night, ears are still ringing
It was a great show, only downer for me was Vince's vocals at times sounds like Elmo after sucking a helium balloon
