That's just an expensive toy and, other than saving on hangar/parking fees does nothing that having your own Cessna at the airport does. Without VTOL, a personal 'flying car' has no real value for 99.9% of us.

I have a 40-45 minute drive to work each day. The nearest airport to my house is about 20 minutes away. Likewise about a 20 minute drive to work from the nearest airport from there. Add in the actual flight time and I have to set my alarm clock even earlier. Give us VTOL or you haven't invented shit.

I'll keep my 4-wheel drive truck. At least with it I have the satisfaction of pissing off the green hippies.

Absolutely, but unlike here, in America they actually see airports as valuable infrastructure not soon-to-be property developments and the government keeps them open. Very worthwhile to note;
USA - 15,079 airports/airstrips
Aus - 465 airports/airstrips.

And that's despite the fact that due to the isolation of the outback in Australia, airstrips are even more important here.
