Optus didn't bother asking me whether I wanted to renew. They cut me off.:( :(

Not that there's anything on there tonight, but I'll have to ring them up and get the footy channel back on.

Not overly concerned about it as would of re-signed again, but not even giving me the option was a bit rich, just fell over it today when looking at my bank statement and there was an extra $100 on top of the usual Foxtel fee and had to ring the pricks up to see what the hell was going on

i always get forgetful if it is up to me to cancel subscriptions. like the other day, the commonwealth bank was offering me 3 months free life insurance. i thought wow, as he said it normally costs $40 a month (or something ridiculous for a person my age)

so i asked him, what happens after 3 months, do you just whack me with a fee if i dont pull out?? he said "yes, it is billed automatically after that time unless you give written notice", i said "no thanks!"

cunning pr*cks, they know i'll forget about it in 3 months time, plus i get statements quarterly, and i hardly ever go through them with a comb. i could have been forking out for years if i simply forgot that i was being insured.

I took it, and forgot to cancel before the free period was finished. And now I'm too lazy to get it cancelled.

yeah, they make it such an effort to actually cancel it... in writing!!!

like you cant do it over the phone, its not a security issue, its a money making issue. i'll bet those fat cat board members are patting themselves on the back for coming up with this one

when we got it reconnected after chopping it for around 2 weeks they tried to jib us  and not reconnect footy channel again with the rest of the channels but as the footy channel connection package was sposed to run for 12 months they then realised this after and reconnected the footy channel. BUT this was only after we had to ring them of course saying that we would cut the connection to my room because i only want it for footy channel!
