Cool. I'm jumping in. The dumbest computer guy on Bigfooty gets to jump in secondary to everyone else's apathy.

Click on 'user cp'
select 'edit profile'
go to - 'customer user text'
type in what the hell you want
click 'submit modification'

Yeah, you definitely have to have a certain number of posts first.

Not sure what that number is though

You have to become a senior member i believe, which happens at 50 posts.
