Why did Denis put Teague on the bench for the first 10-15 minutes?

I think that may of cost us the game, with Sydney getting the jump with one of our best defenders on the pine.

I didn't agree with it at all!

Teague hasn't really played that well in the past few weeks and I didn't think there was a really good matchup for him either.

Note that when he went on he went to the middle of the ground - not his normal position.

Yeah I did notice that, but I still think he should have been in the backline from the first bounce. Even though he has been a bit out of it the last few weeks, he still jumps infront of the pack and takes a grab.

I hate to say this but i think teague is a fantastic player who can do fnatastic things in the backline like spiling taking marks deep in defense but there si one thing he cant do and that is stop a player form scoring goals i dont know about this week but two weeks ago he played on roberston who kicked 6 and last week i don know who he played on but he moved onto welsh int he alst quater who won them the game so yeh great player but missing the most important thnig of a backman

Teague been playing on players who are either too tall or too quick for him because either Carazzo (e.g. Robertson) or Livingston or Thornton (e.g. Stafford) have been out. I think he also plays best on the half back line so that he can run through players rather than behind them and also when he is floating back into or across packs. I think with Carazzo and McGrath taking the forward pockets he should do better next week...playing on the third tall or second small and doing all the other stuff he does so well...spilling packs and marking.

I still strongly believe one of the reasons we lost on Saturday was Pagan's ridiculous, pathetic, down right stupid act of putting Teague on the bench.

They scored 6 goals in the first quarter, someone said before that Teague didn't have a match up... well every side has players in the forward line and Teague should always take one.

This move from Pagan really confused me and I still think it's a reason Sydney got the jump, if Teague was in the backline this may not of been as bad.

There have been quite a few bemusing matchups this year:
Whitnall on Ottens
Scotland on Ablett
Teague on Robertson
Teague on Stafford
De Luca in the backline after previous poor performances

These mismatchs were obvious to blind Freddie and were very exposed and must have shattered the teams confidence when they occurred. ..the Teague on Stafford was particularly heartbreaking...he just walked over him. What were the alternatives? Bryan, Prenderghast and O'hailpin were all available in the team or in the reserves for the big guys...guys like Clarke, Walker, Bannister available to stop the small fast guys. Its easy to criticise in retrospect but sometimes I think some of the matchups in recent times have been confusing.

Wanna swap coaches? Chris Connolly can take a crap list and reform it in 2-3 years.

We'll give you Polak, our 1st rounder and CC for Pagan and Fev.
