Seems that if we had taken the Daily double with Queen Carey 1 and 8 (18) we could have won $390.00, word has it that some of the Kanga board put their money on it and we have cut the debt in half.lol

Have just been watching C7, and seems that this story could be true just a few changes.
The horses were Northerly and Queen Carey, they paid 295.00 for the double 1 and 8. It was to bigger omen to pass up so the big guns at the club got together and put some big bucks on and won a hole heap of money, enough they say to make a whole lot of the debt go away. Has anyone else heard about this?

Yeah, I heard that there was a syndicate of 5 each putting in 2 grand, and $3m was won, of which a third has been put towards our debt. It's just what I had heard, and must admit don't believe it. However, it is gaining momentum over the past 24 hours.

Well I was thinking about that Malibu and then I nearly came back in here and deleted this post. If it is true, it obviously wouldnt be enough to wipeout the debt, and when I heard (which was via the media by the way) they said that North wouldnt talk about it. Now that made me think that if it was true then we would just become complacent and the ones who dont pull their finger out and were about to, wouldnt. But I wonder why they havent hit it on the head if it defniately isnt true for the fact that that is exactly what will happen. Makes you wonder doesnt it?.

They will probably announce this wonderful windfall at the AGM to pacify members after giving the the reasons for the loss.
Ironically I believe the loss was caused by the effort to get into gambling !
