Hi guys, don't usually post on here, but there's something i'm very concerned that I just noticed yesterday about in regards to the construction of my house.

My driveway is out the side of the house, and we have a few pillar's to make it look better, acting as an archway over the driveway. Anyway I noticed that one of the pillar's on the neighbours side of the house has essentially cracked and is on the verge of collapsing. I've made the landlord aware and they're coming to inspect it tomorrow and dealing with it depending on the severity of the situation.

My question is whether the pillar's are purely cosmetic in design, and wouldn't affect the house if it were to collapse, or whether they're load bearing, thus damaging the house. I've attached some pictures so you're able to see.

They look decorative over probably a steel support doing the work, they look like cement sheet.
The building has sunk in that corner and caused the crack or someone hit it with their car.
The angle looks a bit extreme
Depending on the stability of the support.
It might need to be propped up and start again with new foundations under the pillar
or best case just a bit of settlement take a little bit off the pillar and a some no more gaps and some paint ???
Looks like its more than that though

Ive used pillars before but they where solid concrete with a big steel pipe running through them.weighed a tonne
