Has been in poor from in my opinion lately even when he got 30 odd possessions he doenst really use it adn fumbels 35 times for his 30 possessions

he always tries hard and stickes to his job, commits himslef to the ball and running and that but he is just not smart enough to be playing midfield at an afl level (all game) at the moment

For example riccardi towled him up in the last quarter and riccardi is no superstar
peveril was on him i went to the game

at one stage peverill was watchin a geelong player 25 metres away after riccardi kicked to geelong player at chf ann pevs jsut stood next to the bomber player on the mark as riccardi kept running (stragith past peverill) and preceeded to end up recieving a kick 35-40 metres out direclty in frontt which riccardi then used to hit gellong forward on the chest and the geelong goal

geelong quickly out defence goes to ess chf-mid area peverill has two three metres clear with players bearing down punches why?

why not mark kick it straight back in or stop and find a target

in my mind two solutions drop him or favoured solution play him back pocket on small forward and use him that way
 
yeah, i agree, i wasn't at the game, but it seemed too many of the 'nobody' geelong midfield were allowed the ball without any of our players held accountable
 
Im Inclined to agree unless he can turn himself into a Brett Kirk where he will literally take one of the opposition out of the game i cant see his life at Essendon lasting altogether much longer... we have players like him and more coming through.

Rekn he has easily been one of our top 10 performers this year. Has a lot more heart than some others too. Personally I think he creates good mid-field drive....don't really rate him as a tagger as much anymore. He's better than that.

Fumbles 35 times out of 30??
I know thats an exaggeration but still you/ve gotta be joking, he is one of the more assured ball handlers in the side, if we are talking fumbles than this year you can look at guys like Mercuri and Wellman.

Pev Deserves more credit!
 
I agree with dannyboy.

Usually pevs looks like he has stuffed because he doesn't have much finesse but generally gets the ball to someone in space.
 
He might not be such a great tagger anymore but he always give you 100% and is regularly among our better players. Plus you know he'll never let you down when things start getting tough.
 
wasnt meant to be completely bagging peveril as such as i completely agree he does give his all as i have said its just that i dont think he is up to scratch as the no 1 tagger for our team and doesnt have the skill to keep other midfield optons out that will be more damaging to the opposition was probably a bit harsh but still believe in what i said and he hasnt really been in our best that goes to mcphee hird solomon murphy even bolton and the likes

more suited to back pocket these days with saml stints in themidfeild or do a lot lot of work on his descsion makng to reallybecome a legitimate gun tagger or midfielder

Pevers is a champ - epitomises a guy who gets the most out of himself. Very important to the team. not all players have to be superstars. He does his job week in week out. It is not suprising that when he and Smokin Joe turned the corner last year, we started winning games.

Yes his disposal isn't great and he does need to improve on it, but when you have blokes like Murphy and Cupido (not a slag at them) who don;t go in hard, we need guys like Pevers to get the ball out. He is currently changing his game some what to become more attacking. If more players were like him and always put their body on the line to get the ball (ala Nancy boy Hille whon does it seldomly) we would be a very very good team.
