With news of these games coming to PS4 next year, where they will hopefully draw a (much deserved) larger audience, this series deserves a thread of its own.

NIS America has announced that Danganronpa 1+2 Reload is headed to PlayStation 4 in early 2017 in North America and Europe.

Reload will be available for $39.99 as both a retail and digital release, and will include Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, both of which originally launched on PS Vita in the West in 2014. No specific release date has been revealed yet.

For those that haven't played them, the basic premise sees a group of high schoolers imprisoned in a mysterious school and forced to kill each other in order to escape. After an investigation period, a "trial" is held where all remaining students must attempt to determine the killer. If they fail, the true culprit is allowed to leave and everybody else is executed. If they succeed, the killer is executed and all remaining students are released.

Gameplay borrows from both the Zero Escape and Phoenix Wright games but is different in its own unique ways. First and foremost a visual novel, but the trials themselves are wacky, fast-paced and novel. The story of both games is excellent, filled with unexpected twists, and the major reason I love the games.

Massive fan of both games. Can't wait for V3. Due in Japan next year but no NA/EU release set as yet.

LukasTheGreat it's Bananarama! On PS4!

Slowly getting through V3, finally.

I'm a little disappointed so far. Only two trials in, but it just doesn't have the same appeal up to this point. The characters aren't as interesting, the plot is too convoluted, and the cases seem more interested in creating difficulty by being deliberately opaque than anything.

It's solid so far, but certainly not enthralling me as much as the earlier games.
