The idea wouldn't be to get a forward that can play at FF for us for 10 years... The idea would be to get someone who can improve our side for the next year or two.

While we are a young side, with plenty of young talent, we are also a team that is expecting to finish Top 4 and win finals on a yearly basis at the moment, so it's not unreasonable of us to want to improve ourselves on a short term basis, provided the price is not too high.

None of you could argue that you wouldn't have been interested in Daniel Bradshaw lining up for us this past finals series.

This would be a move akin to the Dogs picking up Aker or Ben Hudson, or the Saints picking up Steven King and Michael Gardiner... Picking up older players can be beneficial to sides on the cusp.

That said, it's all about cost - I think our pick #30 would be about right, so it would be a matter of whether or not we'd want to recruit him. If Brisbane wanted any more than that, we'd have to decline.

I have heard that the inside word in the Lions camp is that Bradshaw's body is done, and would be lucky to fun out another season - maybe some games, but not a season. Not what we need.

A forward we should really chase and hould be able to get is Nort's Aaron Edwards. He's big, strong takes a great mark. A Quicker more able replacement for Rocca. WE Really should go after him.

Edwards is 184 cm, hardly a KPF let alone a Rocca replacement, and he can't even get a consistent game with the Roos so you'd have to question the value.

The reason I say a replacement for Rocca is the game is changing and he's alot better mark than Rocca a big body and mobile. The guy is very very talented. Why he can't get a game a the Roo's is either behind the scenes trouble or falling out with the coach. I believe if he were to come to Collingwood he'd big as good a get as Medhurst and better than Leigh Brown who also couldn't get games at there clubs. He is very talented and would suit our forward line perfectly. Shouldn't cost the earth either.
