The only Tiger to put his hand up and have a red hot physical go for the Burgers in the GF, and tonight taken off not once, but twice after putting head and body on the line for our great club. He wont get much of a mention in the rags, but he bleeds Tiger blood. I love him.

I've been his advocate on YnB for the last 2 seasons - definately my favourite bloodnut player.

I've always said we needed a hardman and Jackson is bloody hard.

He's been underated for the last year. Hard body and looks like a Geelong midfielder, disciplined, good disposal and can kick it 60m. Gets better with each game.

He's the one good thing that came out of the Tommy Roach fiasco. The Tiger recruiters only found him because they went to see Tom Roach playing school football.

My 8 year old has had number 23 on the jumper the last 2 years - since the first time she saw him play. She's a good judge!

I reckon this year will be a big one for the young feller:thumbsu:
He was tough when we needed him to be, lets hope we see some consistency

please tiger fans help me out here.

when dj smashed heads in the 4th or so when they showed him was his ear half off?

it looked to me that his ear was hanging on by a thread. or was it his hair??:(

I love Jacko. He'd be one of the first picked in my team because I love the way he goes about it. Not every player has to get 30 possies and 3 goals. One thing with Jacko is that he is a good size (height and weight).

Hope hes gets plenty of opportunity this year.

I thought he showed a lot of class when he was put on Judd as well, knew that he had to block Judds run but also understood that he needed to contest the ball. I loved watching him playing out of the forward line a couple of years back, but he looks very sure about himself in the midfield. He'll gain a lot from that match. :thumbsu:

And Californiarules?

I thought they'd be sure to praise Jacko after last night's great showing...;)

I take it as Richmonds Resident Grouch, you didnt like him much last night:confused:

I've been defending Jackson for a long time while the three posters mentioned above have repeatedly called him a hack with no future and similar things.

I was just wondering when they were going to relent and get on board. ;)

You obviously don't read too well if you think I'm the 'Resident Grouch' compared to a few around here who very rarely say anything positive.

I defend a lot of players and a lot of things about the club in general, but I draw the line at glorifying average performances from a handful of players who people here constantly overrate.

so tell us wise one, what exactly did you see that has you going gaga about Forrest Gump?

I mean, i take it he was Judds shadow correct? and Judd was quiet correct?
Wow, but that also means to you that Judd was firing on all cylinders correct? ;)

He displayed all the qualities we need in our up and coming midfielders last night Cogga.

Yes, Judd was well below 100%, but many 21yo's tagging him would have still struggled. Jackson blocked him very well, stuck to his task mentally (which was a big improvement on some games last year) despite copping two heavy knocks to the head, showed good strength and courage going for the hard ball, tackled and competed well, won enough football himself, hurt Judd going the other way, and had good disposal all night.

What was there not to like?

We've been wondering how our midfield is going to click and where the future depth will come from, and three players a lot of people have underestimated (Tambling, King and Jackson) are now clearly showing they are going to be key parts of our future rotation.
